#1 MrBloodpuppy Oct 15, 2014 17:23:37	When i use a power that gives me a bonus action do i have to use it right away?   Say i use tavern brawler, I kick someone and i get a bonus action to grapple someone. Can i first put my shield away then grapple or do i have to use the bonus action as my very next action?
#2 OoftaMeg Oct 15, 2014 17:50:51	You can use your bonus any time during your turn unless it's specifically spelled out. Note however that it takes an action to don or doff a shield.
#3 lawrencehoy Oct 15, 2014 21:01:31	OoftaMeg is correct, you have to use the Bonus Action on the turn you use the Action that grants it; you can use the Bonus Action before or after the Action that grants it, unless the action specifically states otherwise.

#5 AaronOfBarbaria Oct 16, 2014 5:13:27	It might be hard to believe, but it is still true in cases where the bonus action doesn't specifically say it follows after whatever grants you the bonus action.   Of course, you have to keep in mind that people are expected not to try any kind of "I'm going to take the attack action this round, so I'll use a bonus action for two-weapon fighting first [roll out the bonus action off-hand attack]... actually, I'm going to Dodge instead," shennanigans.
