#1 Asperdn Sep 24, 2014 14:22:58	I am looking at the Wight in the monster manual pg300 Is the amount of life drain damage (necrotic Damage) 1D8+1D6+2 sword +necrotic effect or just the necrotic effect 1D6+2.
#2 2Chlorobutanal Sep 24, 2014 16:55:12	I don't have a MM, but if it's the same as the DM's basic rules PDF, the life drain is a separate attack from the longsword, and only the 1d6+2 necrotic damage is "life drain."  If the target fails a Constitution saving throw, the target's maximum hp are reduced by the 1d6+2 roll value until they rest.
