There is no conflict or contradiction here. |

Wildshape. I'd have to say that you can't cast your invocation spells while wildshaped. Invocations just give you the ability to cast a spell x number of times per day without needing a spell slot to do so, and removing the necessity of some or all of the spell components. A spell that you otherwise wouldn't have the ability to cast (which is about as specific as "can" gets without further elaboration). A spell that still follows all the other rules for spells (beyond the exceptions stated in the invocation) and is no more or less susceptible to any condition that would prevent you from casting it than any other spell. For example, an invocation that states it removes the somatic component of a spell may let the warlock cast the spell when his hands are tied, but nothing in the invocation suggests that all other circumstances and/or possible interactions don't still follow the general rules. Under general circumstances you can cast a spell given to you by your invocation (which may or may not have specific exceptions to the general rules). Under the specific circumstances of being wildshaped, you can't cast spells.

If any of the other invocations that replicate casting a spell had only a somatic component I would let you use that invocation providing you were wild shaped into something that could articulate the motion sufficiently.
I would think that other invocations like the read anything invocation or the devils sight invocation would still work while you were wild shaped. |
