Or perhaps they worship more intelligent deities?

Im gonna play a Scro that was brought up planet side on Toril. These Scro are exactly as I truly see Orcs and I MUST play one!

Oh, and do Scro actually get an extra 3d8 hps plus two feats plus proficiency in all martial weapons for only +1 ECL?

From what play testing I have done with Scro, indicates they are a strong for a +1 level adjustment, but a bit weak for +2 level adjustment. One of the factors that is hard to put into level adjustment is how the scro is treated by every one else. I have found that the Giff is very powerful, but as soon as anyone see just how much damage one can do, it like all the villian take your most powerful attack and take out the superstar destroyer... No more Giff, so I think that even thou +1 level adjustment make them just a bit strong, most people that know the scro well will likely bring out thier big guns and kill it dead. So I rather side in error of +1 then +2 level adjustment.

Gamemasters that want to favor a weaker scro should treat them as +2 level adjustment but then not have so many shoot at the superstar destroyer. It really depends on campaign.

That makes alot of sense. Thanks for the reasoning.

Oh, does anyone know if the Scro still follow the moronic Orc gods?

For my campaign I run 'Dukgash' is thier god, he was not just a mortal scro, but for my history is a lesser god that modified the orcs to make scro, used an avatar to lead the new race to be better then before and he does indeed hate the elves.

Simply put he is own god and not belong to any other pantheon. Some DM's might not like how I treat 'Dukgash' but I figure it better then trying to explain why the scro are so much different from ordinary orcs.

Some gamemasters that I talk to liked the idea that Grummish gave vision and means to 'Dukgash' to create the Scro... (Like Grummish admit to a mistake in not creating the Orcs to be more Scro like from the beginning). Some DMs like having the Scro still have the normal Orc Pantheon. I have a rough draft of 'Dukgash' as a Intermediate God.

What 'Dukgash' was before he became the god of the Scro is what I am still trying to figure out. Hope to make it into an epic adventure!

Engage thread necromancy mode.

As far as I can see Scro are just a single clan of Orcs, from a single planet, who changed their culture after the First Unhuman War. Before this time they didn't exist as a race (or subrace).

Dukgash (in the canon) was a mortal Orc who turned the race around, but I don't think that all of the Scro would reject their gods. I get the impression that it is their barbaric nature they are rejecting. I see the relationship between Scro and regular Orcs as similar to the relationship between Wood Elves and Wild Elves.

I think that some Scro would continue to worship individual gods within the Orc Pantheon. All Scro have learned Elvish (to better understand their enemy) so I wonder if the odd individual Scro might look towards a Drow god, but even if they did look towards them, they wouldn't be able to become divine servants of them. But the Scro who do worship the original Orc gods may well have more cultured ways to worship them than their Orc ancestors.

As for Scro on Toril, I don't think Scro are native to Toril. I think a Scro on Toril should be a spacefarer - either a stranded spacefarer or a Scro spy.

A stranded spacefarer would be someone from a Scro ship that crashed on Toril. You would probably need to set this after the Second Unhuman War.

A Scro spy, may be a more interesting option as they could be someone sent to Toril by the Scro, in order to help drum up an Orc or Goblinoid army that can be picked up and taken to fight a battle in the rest of Realmspace. Alternatively, your Scro could be someone trying to help push the Orcs of Toril towards war with the Elves of Toril.

You would probably need to set this before the Second Unhuman War, but it would probably also work if your Scro was some sort of Fifth Columnist who was put on Toril at the end of the Second Unhuman War.

I would suggest you make your Scro hide his racial heriatage from most people and pass himself off as "an Orc from somewhere else".

I think it is up to you what religion you give your Scro PC/NPC, but if you make them a divine servant of an Orc god, i'd suggest you consider "updating" the religion, while keeping the original domains.
