| #1Silverblade_The_EnchanterSep 17, 2007 17:22:57 | Latest SJ project I've been working on has been re-building the Man-O-War. I made a model of it years ago, but was only starting to learn 3d work and thus only made the outer details and it wans't perfect. Currently I'm trying to build them as close to deck plans as I can...but often have to tweak things as deckplans/external artwork don't always jibe, and/or I see practical problems and so on. -I use Rhino to model, Maxwell for finer renders, Vue for artistic scenes, UVMapper/Pant Shop Pro/Photoshop for texturing (not textured this ship yet though). -Images are in chronological order, as I work, I tweak n' change ;) - ![]() Small thumbnail to show, rest are big images http://www.silverblades-suitcase.com/rhino/2007/manowar_2007_19.jpg http://www.silverblades-suitcase.com/rhino/2007/manowar_2007_20.jpg http://www.silverblades-suitcase.com/rhino/2007/manowar_2007_21.jpg http://www.silverblades-suitcase.com/rhino/2007/manowar_2007_23.jpg |

| #5Silverblade_The_EnchanterNov 03, 2008 10:34:53 | Silly boy! *he says in Captian Mainwearing style* Hehe! ;) ta bro in D, yo can make objects selectively transparent, usign a black and white image as a "mask". OS for that, I made a large image of the wings, most of it's solid, just some grey to black at the bottom tip, then I used the image for the veins, to add more white (white is solid no transparency), as veins = thick so less transparent.hence end result ![]() It's to fine to do though on an image for a web page. has ot be done in original render (Well I could, but be a pain in the arse with a seperate transparency pass) They are far too big to put on the main page! ntoe size of largest one http://www.silverblades-suitcase.com/sj/manowar/manowar_2007_840trans.png I did put the smaller one on main page as a page headliner at the top though ![]() |
