| #1SveinnMay 06, 2012 9:55:45 | Been playing around with the idea of a Spelljammer chronicle sometime in the future but Ive hit a snag when it comes to the background music I will be using. Having music in the background both when I am DM'ing and writting my material has allways been important to me, it keeps me focused and in the right mood. So Ive been trying to find music that has the right Spelljammer tone and feeling to it, but sofar Ive struck out. Closest Ive gotten sofar is the new Battlestar Galactica series, but its way to close to my Dark Sun music (use alot fo Dune, Wrath of the Titans and Elder Scrolls there) and I want to evoke a different feeling. Also ruled out the Pirates of the Carribean soundtracks since my players are to familiar with it. The tone Im trying to go for is Swashbuckling with a hint of Scifi, anyone got any suggestions? |

Skimming through my games, dvds and links I found two things that I quickly googled and listened to and decided would work. The anime Mouretsu Pirates and the Monkey Island game series. Neither of these have perfect soundtracks, Monkey Island has alot of repitition in its soundtrack and theres alot of songs in Mouretsu pirates that are pretty wierd. But a combination of these two will form a start for my soundtrack and now Im looking to expand on these, preferably with similiar music as my song list is still pretty short. Here are some links to examples of the music so you can judge for yourselves. Unfortunetly for my own little project I know that the players I have in mind would be driven crazy by having those sounds on in the background for any lengthy time. However I have been pondering about using something like that for maybe a specific scene involving a celestial phenomenon or spliced into the background of a more regular piece of music. |

| #7DoctorNecroticJul 29, 2012 18:21:25 | -BBC's Doctor Who soundtracks? (What? Yes, I'm a proud whovian!) -Nightmare House 2 Soundtrack (A great soundtrack from a great GMod custom) Now, specifics - Perhaps these will work, but I couldn't find too much in my favorites that really fit. |

| #9ChrysalidAug 14, 2012 1:02:07 | I use musics of Pirates of Carribean and Star Trek (the old movies). With a bit of Stardust too. The result is really cool :p And with musics of Thomas Bergersen when ships are in maximum speed ! |
