| #1solomaniAug 13, 2014 16:52:47 | Hi all,
I am currently running my players through Lost Mines of Phandelver and I have decided to take them somewhere totally unexpected at the end of the mini-campaign - Wildspace. I have never played a Spelljammer campaign and I have not read all the Spelljammer stuff yet (WIP) though I am very familiar with Planescape (and thats my backup plan).
In my opnion 5e makes it very easy to convert old material. In fact, you can play old modules on the fly replacing monsters as you go or just playing them as is with a bit of "creative interpatation" of 1e/2e mechanics.
Now, my issue is I am not sure how to do this - geting my guys into space and linking it with the current adventure. I have read the intro module with the Beholder death star and this looks like a good option. But I prefer to setup a long term enemy and since there is a Drow bad guy in the Lost Mines I was looking at using the Spider Moon setting as at least the seed of an idea (maybe have his ship somewhere nearby for the players to discover and take into space). So my questions:
Thanks in advance. |

It has many adventure ideas for getting a groundling party into Wildspace. i have never run the Spider Moon adventure, but have run many spelljammer games. If you don't want to the the Lost Ships, there is an Undermountain module that has a spelljamming ship in it. it would be another way to get them into Wildspace. Hope this helps!!! |
