Carnak, once a haven for criminals, a city full of thieves and killers who had no else to run and hide when their infamy came to call them. The city was ruled by fear and guilds of thieves and killers, the most ruthless ruled over them all with a bloody fist. Then came the Barrar-Ekel-Norrak. They swept through the town like a whirlwind, wiping away all that was unclean and unjust.

The Barrar-Ekel-Norrak have turned the desert oasis into a land of law and order. The law is holy to them and followed with a religious vigor. The defense of the law is a path that one follows as any priest would follow the teachings of their god. The land itself has prospered under their control and though the desert's harsh landscape still hides a few rogues and bandits, the Barrar-Ekel-Norrak hunt them down and none hide for long.

The city's streets are kept clean, paved with stone in the desert sands. It surrounds a large oasis that provides a good deal of exotic fruits and most of the land's water. The people however are experienced in living off the harsh land and despite the law they have brought with them, the land is still dangerous.

The men of the Barrar-Ekel-Norrak gather in the city center, a few nights before runners returned to town from the western border along the borders of the Jungle of the Damned. The word the brought was dire... the damned marched against them. The current master of the city, Lord Jarakel walks along the front lines, his loose fitting red clothing flapping in the dry desert winds, a stark contrast to the cool water nearby.
"My people... a time we have expected has finally come. The darkness we have feared for many years has poured forth with a vengeance. It comes to claim us, lead by one of our own... a traitor to the Holy Law. This woman hid herself from us and stole our trainings... but now she has made a fatal mistake. We will not lay down and let ourselves be destroyed. We will not let this traitor lead our enemies into the heart of our lands. The damned march against us, and we are ready! The damned march against us, but it is only their final destruction that they shall find. Rise up my brothers! Rise up, for now is the time to crush these beats once and for all!"
