#1 orcy_the_green_wonder May 21, 2009 21:38:16	This thread will serve as a thread for general discussion here at the Guild House. Orcy will be finishing up some work on the next version of the Guild wars. As a way of introduction... The Guild Wars (taking place here at the guild house) center around guilds and other such organizations. The guild wars will be entering their newest incarnation so now is the perfect time to join up and get a lay of the lands. Feel free to discuss anything game related or any other matters here.

#6 orcy_the_green_wonder May 22, 2009 21:15:58	Orcy is posting up his 'next version' for the 3.5 games currently. He would ask that nobody posts on that thread since its going to have the rules and whatnot. He appologizes to anyone who has continued taking part in the level 15 game (not many of you) but he feels that it is time to start over. Things have not worked out, perhaps due to the high level and perhaps due to the players themselves not caring. But it is Orcy's hope that the players will find more enjoyment if less work is involved in character creation. Orcy thanks all of you who have remained around, and would like to see what you all come up with this time around. The 4e game is also being worked on and Orcy may have that up and running some time today or some time over the weekend, but keep an eye out for it. He'll try his best with 4e but can make no promises, though he hopes he can maintain any quality that he might have brought thus far to your gaming experience.
#7 jagggar May 23, 2009 6:35:50	4e shouldn't be that hard. Well, unless you're trying to run it like a simulation. Might be helpful if we started moving towards guilds that weren't reliant on the wars. That connection kinda... ewwed stuff?

#16 orcy_the_green_wonder May 27, 2009 0:57:17	For a quick reference, [NA-IC] notes that a thread is for the "new age" game here at the Guild House. IC notes that it is an in character area and Orcy would prefer to keep any OOC chatter or commentary from such places. Too much OOC can bog down roleplay and takes the player out of the setting. Orcy may post up some IC/OOC areas that will be a bit more lax in such things but not at the moment. With that said... this means things are officially open. As soon as Orcy gets some character sheets things can get rolling.

#18 orcy_the_green_wonder May 28, 2009 0:09:26	Orcy has started a new 3.5 game at level 7 in hopes that the 'too high a level' crowd will be more interested than in the level 15 game. The Beginning thread has all the information on character creation and whatnot that you might need to create a character. Everything is ready all you need now is a character and possibly a goal. In addition to this Orcy has started a 4e game on the Legends of the Guilds sub-forum, which also has a Beginning thread.

#20 turalisj May 29, 2009 13:24:34	Hmmm.... Orcy, if I want my character to have a 'guild' (more like a loose association of sword/spear/axe/misc weapons fighters) should I grab leadership or could I use the rules in DMG2 for making a buisness?
#21 orcy_the_green_wonder May 29, 2009 18:43:00	Jagggar is indeed the first person to get a character in for either game. Orcy would be fine with a small guild being formed by a player. Leadership is a great way to do this. A guild is not really a business so Orcy doesn't really think the business making rules would apply in this situation. He also things that it would be doable to have say a 'corporal' status (Heroes of Battle) for a character that would allow the commanding of 1-4 'troops' or in this case guild members. Keep in mind that most 'guilds' at this time are not huge or if they are are not very focused on war and combat. However, 5 or so people who are recruiting and seeking to gain fame and glory through their deeds... that would be a pretty good reason to be adventuring and whatnot.

#24 orcy_the_green_wonder May 30, 2009 13:15:50	An ettercap is ECL 9, 4 HD would drop it to 8, the game is level 7. There IS an ettercap progression in savage species that Orcy wouldn't mind allowing however. Which coincidently would place you at 4HD but you would not have all of the ettercap's abilities yet.

#26 orcy_the_green_wonder May 30, 2009 14:28:12	Well, Orcy would prefer you use savage species in this matter (he can probably send you a listing of abilities and whatnot for the levels) since its more official and there isn't really a way to remove HD from a creature in another way.

He believes tests and whatnot should be done by now, perhaps people are on vacation? Orcy cannot tell it seems. He has lots of ideas and plans for some entertainment but has gotten few characters at this point. In fact he has 3 and only 1 for the 4e game. He knows theres people out there and reading things but they're not sending him characters to start things up. Those of you who are planning to play, put in some characters! As for those of you who are reading this, bring some friends on over. Put the word out and try to get some folks around here. Orcy can't do much in the way of running a game without the players and he feels that theres plenty he can get going if said players do arrive. Remember, we've got both a 3.5 and a 4e game here now... bring some folks to them!

#56 orcy_the_green_wonder Aug 28, 2009 10:52:26	Look at all these fancy new things.  Orcy isn't quite sure about some of this stuff yet so we'll be getting things together soon enough and hopefully this little downtime hasn't killed what playerbase we have left.  Orcy will likely be setting up a group for this and whatnot for whatever purposes they might serve.  It may even remove the need for this particular thread by giving people a place to chat, though he hasn't actually looked at the groups yet to see how they work here...  We will just have to see how things go over the next week or so and... well... go from there.

#58 orcy_the_green_wonder Aug 28, 2009 12:54:22	For those players who are interested, Orcy has begun a The Guild House group.  You can find it in his profile since he is naturally a member.  He should tell you now that from what he is hearing, PbP sections will be going the way of the dinosaur and we will be trasfering over to individual group forums.  This allows orcy a bit more freedom and more ability to moderate the place as well, which is always helpful.  So as you all being to trickle back in (and he does hope there be trickling) join up.  There is currently an area open for general discussion and roleplay within Tyrannor Propper.  Orcy will expand upon those choices as time passes but will be working much of the day today so these update may not be immediate.  Hang in there folks, Orcy is sure we can get this all straightened out.
