#1 lunoc Oct 31, 2008 16:55:35	ooc: welcome to my halloween thread! rules for characters: humans (sorry aqua) low power, close to real world people. modern world, and your characters can start with weapons like guns. the characters are hired* to explore a previosly undiscovered ruin deep within a forrest. *if you want they can be going there for a different reason, but you have say why. if you have a character but you are unsure if i will aprove it then just ask me. i will be posting more soon.
#2 Aqua Oct 31, 2008 17:38:18	OOC When you say Modern world do you mean more technology? Like vehicles and other things like that? Maybe you will answer that in your next post but if you want me to make a character for you I need more information so I don't do something that I will mess up your thread. So I pmed you just tell me it there and I can edit or make another post whichever comes first. I am just trying to play by the rules here people. Sorry Lunoc for all the questions but its better then just assuming and jumping the gun and playing something that is totally illegal.
#42 hinoban Nov 02, 2008 16:29:44	(Bersa thunder? pretty small gun. I like the double eagle though) "isn't the bersa thunder a little small? .380calibur doesn't leave that much of a mark." He flips his jacket back and pulls out his pistols, sits next to Jessica in a dining chair and lays them on the table. A Taurus raging bull, and a desert eagle. "I lowered the calibur of my eagle to .45 and outfitted it for an automatic clip. The raging bull is .454. A nice reliable gun. My second favorite weapon is this" He pulls the gun off his back. It is black with silver plates in seemingly random places. It has been bulked up and slimmed down, the ammo system completely changed and the cooling sytem heavily improved. It still slightly resembles an M-16....almost. "I call it Dirus!"

I had done around 16 successfuly, the demon removed and eraticated. My 17th was a disaster. It killed my mentor, who was the closest thing to a father I've ever had, and my Mom was the one being excorsised, and she was killed as well. I haven't done one in a while but I have continued research on it. Damnit, sorry for going on like that." His normal cheery and apathetic nature is replaced by a very sober and realistic view.

He waves to everyone and picks up his guns and his backpack which he had dropped by the door. He leaves the archaelogical gear. Just as he reaches the door he turns back and says. Sleep lightly tonight my friends, we know little of our job and less of our employer. No offense to you or your family Jessica. He leaves and enters the foyer were everyone first met. He then walks up the main staircase to the guest bedrooms. Once in his toom he lays his guns down next to his bed and his backpack at the foot. He then goes to sleep.
#123 hinoban Nov 03, 2008 23:12:02	Cerberus almost anticipated this hit, almost. He manages to prepare a little but he still is left breathless. "*cough* Point taken *cough*" He finshes his sandwich quickly, picks up his stuff, says good night to everyone, gives a wary look to Jessica, then goes to the bedroom. He unpacks several things. Flasks of random materials, books, holy symbols, the like. He reads over several chants and removal ceremonies, and procedes to study up his demonology text. He pulls out Dirus and completely takes the gun apart. In one flask is a glowing oil, the other is empty. From his pack he removes a unbelievably thin knife. He slices his finger, blood dripping into the empty flask. His wound closes up, but he puts a band aid on it. He shakes up the oil and adds it to the blood. A little vapor pours off the liquid. He says a low chant as he pulls apart his two hand guns. He blindfolds himself, continues to repeat the chant, and seperatley oils each and every piece with the odd liquid. When he finishes oiling, he puts each gun back together perfectly, all while blindfolded. The guns glow softly. He loads them up and lays them on th bed. He crawls in and falls into another night of tortured nightmares.

Cerberus stirs and wakes up violently, hitting his head again on the twisted metal. "****..... What happened..." He holds his head in his hands. He smells the air, smells the blood and evil. he looks aound inside the car. "What did happen.....?

He takes a medium range sniper scope from his bag and carefully attaches it. He then climbs out and starts walking towards the woods. #220 hinoban Nov 09, 2008 17:42:45	Cerberus looks nervous and excited. "It's everywhere. I can feel it! Demons lurk in the shadows. Their stench fills the air!" He pulls the clips of his guns out and from his pack he smashes various herbs into the top. When he slams the clips and wheel back into his guns, the herbs spread across the mechanisms. He draws his swords and rubs a piece of peony wood up and down the blade on either side. He puts everything back in place, puts on a pendant, and opens the door. He climbs up and stabalizes himself, still a little groggy. He slings his rifle over his shoulder and steadies it, ready for the worst. (the herbs and woods are all used for demon repelling and exorcising)

#222 lunoc Nov 09, 2008 17:52:24	(if i was going to kill him off this early, i would have done it when maka tun took like 5 minutes to sneak up on him. ) sunset. i am coming with you. jessica jumps down off the car next to nicolai. the sound of a tree falling in the distance echoes through the forrest, then something else...something familiar thump a limp figure regards cerberus from the edge of the forest, little can be seen of it beond its shape. a pitiful sound, almost like muffled crying, finds its way to the exorcist's ears.

I am going to assume it isn't) Cerberus' eyes narrow, his heart races. He pulls back the bolt of Dirus slowly, feeling a tidbit uncomfortable about being left alone with an unconcious guy and two people who have yet to exit the car. He slowly scans the area, trying to locate the origin.

He notices the shadow in the tree and takes aim through his scope. Cerberus, be careful. He says quietly and calmly.

The barrel is completely still and trained on it.
#228 lunoc Nov 09, 2008 18:45:35	(hells, this IS nice by my standards. and what is left 4 dead? ) the figure starts to slowly shuffle towards the car. as it walks into the fading light, it can be seen more clearly. it appears to be a deformed human-shaped creature. it is extreamly hunched over, and is covered in large growths. horrible scarring covers its body. it has small, black eyes, no ears, nose, or hair. it limps foreward, its arms held foreward almost pleadingly towards cerberus. jessica waches the creature with great sadness the null... she brings up her gun

I slowly bring my gun up to headshot her before she notices us. Suddenly Zoey and Louis both charge her and then stand there. They both go down and I dodge out of the way just as she charges Francis. She died from a few quick pistol shots but damn was I mad at the games "revelutionary" AI ))

#260 lunoc Nov 11, 2008 10:18:06	(sigh, its the same thing, both sounds were the creature's heavy footsteps) a pair of huge gray hands push two trees apart and a hiddious form steps through. the thing that steps through looks to be as tall as three men, and more powerful than fifty. it's massive gray torso is wrapped in spiked chains that dig into the beast's thick dark gray flesh. its face is tortured and disgusting. horrific scaring and lacerations cover it's head. inside it's large mouth, the creature's teeth are blunt, and made from dull bronze. the abomination's right eye is unharmed. it is white-gray, and looks almost human if not for the extream rage it holds. in the monster's left hand is a club made from the trunk of a tree, with two huge nails driven through the head. ru-RUN! jessica takes off as fast as she can into the forest this way!

He takes a glass stirring rod and puts a small amount of the null blood on the tip. He swiftly moves the blood sample into a vial of glowing blue liquid. The mixture turns red on contact and a shoots out its contents with a quiet woosh noise. A look of confusion crosses Cerberus' face, which slowly turns to one of panic and/or fear. "This... this can't be! The blood has a composition unlike any outsider or corrupt being ever encountered! It has a chain of proteins that appear corrupt but nothing adds up! It's still human, but... but somethings wrong, SPECTRAL almost...." He looks over to Jessica. His face quickly changes as does his train of thought. "She is beatiful when she sleeps isn't she?" He remarks to no one in particular.

#369 lunoc Jan 20, 2009 8:06:46	it shudders and doubles over into the room when shot. almost imediately it starts to push itself up. it walks like an ape, pulling itself along on it's hands and feet. the creature has large curved claws, and it's mouth is a nest of teeth. it's mouth is too large and curls back into a dreadfull grin. it's eyes are long, thin, ovals of pitch black. the creature pushes itself upright and surveys the room. it looks first at the null, dead on the floor. then to nicolai, who does not seem to interest it at the moment. it looks over at jessica, who is nervosly reaching for her gun. it sniffs twice, takes a step towards her, then stops. slowly it turns it's head to look at cerberus. an exited clicking noise escapes it's mouth followed by two barks, signalling the others outside. it rears up to cerberus' height, and roars in his face, revealing rows of pointed teeth.

When he sees the creature that spoke, his expression turns to pure shock. The moment seems to drag on as the picture registers in Cerberus' mind. "N-no! How.... It can't..... NO!" He turns his body towards the creature, draws both pistols, and lets out a nearly mad-like yell of fear as he fully empties both of the weapons into the creature before falling back onto the ground breathing heavily.
#375 lunoc Jan 22, 2009 16:03:25	the creature that stands before cerberus grinns with its huge curling mouth. it is at least seven feet tall, and extreamely thin. it's eyes are black orbs of gleeful malice. it has no nose, and has small pointed ears attached to it's head. it is garbed in black finery befitting some dark courtier from a hellish palace. horrors keep their distance. jessica starts to run to cerberus, but the creature aims a palm at her I KNOW YOUR FEAR. jessica screams, holding her head with both hands, and falls to her knees. after a flashing a glance at nicolai and cerberus, he releases her. he studies cerberus for a moment. ahhh. there it is... you may try to hide it but I can see your fear the memory that haunts you is so painfully clear. he merily rymes at cerberus, knowing his words could cut deeper into this man than any knife.

Why did it have to end that way? Did she have to die so horribly? But the worst fact he couldn't shake was that it was all of his doing.... Crushing feelings of loss replace the fear, the terror. He pulls up his legs and hugs his knees, closing his eyes tightly, letting out a sorrowful intake of breath or whimper every few moments.

#434 lunoc Feb 19, 2009 17:43:18	(regret breeds fear of repeating the same faliure, and of the memory itself. it will work fine.) the gate-seer is truly a vision of insanity. a towering figure at least ten feet tall, garbed in a long coat decorated with screeming faces that seems to be a cross between a trench coat and a strait jacket. he also wears a large hat with a wide brim. two red flares of light are his eyes, but little else of him can be seen. his hands are rolling cralwing masses, black talons sprouting from the end of his arms. he holds an ornate walking stick that reaches up to his middle. one claw taps on the head of the cane, keeping time for some tune the Seer is humming. he spots the approching humans we-he-hel! what do we have here? I wasnt expecting any visitors! havent seen anyone since that old ghost tried to get past me! his voice is abnormally deep, and he talks like a ringmaster or magician puting on a show.

#444 lunoc Feb 20, 2009 14:58:52	nicolai's leg conects but with what is uncertan. the kick has about the same effect as it would on a tree trunk. talons grasp nicolai's collar, lifting him up to the Seer's eye level. the man can see the face of the demon. thousands of bumps move under the Seer's gray-black skin. a long toung slithers lazily over his rows of bone white, slightly luminecent teeth. maka tun insisted that I save you for him, unfortunately for you I've never been much for doing favors. suddenly he drops nicolai, his head blown half off by a shotgun blast from jessica. the Seer clutches his head roaring and moaning. his cries soon turn to laughter as bits of shadow fly back to his head, rejoining him. aaaarrrrhhh-h-h-ha ha ah ah! o-ho-ho, I had you there for a second didnt I!

#448 lunoc Feb 20, 2009 16:05:01	the Seer ignores cerberus' attacks as he catches jesica and lifts her up. his head turns over his shoulder, a bit to far over his shoulder, and he shouts at cerberus I'm only being polite exorcist, ladies first and all that. his head swivels back now where were w-uungggrrragh! the horrible fear in jessica's eyes fades away. she swings her legs up and kicks the Seer in the face with both feet, pushing off backwards. his "hand" detaches from his arm as he stagers backward. the hand melts into a ring that pinns jessica to the ground by her neck. rrraahhgg! you got more fight in you then your parents, thats for sure. a new hand reaches up and feels the Seers face. most of his face is crushed from the kick.

#459 lunoc Feb 21, 2009 11:16:37	the Seer grunts as cerberus connects andcrushes his stomach. he catches the exorcists arm however, and throws him away. he approches nicolai, cane raised. you wont beat me! you CANT beat me! thudthudthudthud the Seer's head swivels around just in time to see the giant's club coming toward him. the strike lifts the Seer off his feet and sends him flying into the doors of the temple, bringing them crashing down.

#469 lunoc Feb 21, 2009 13:14:09	blood drips from the torn door frame like a wound, landing on those who enter. maka tun leaps out of the way, claws digging into the bone walls. the sword instead digs deep into the unaware Seer, who is pinned by the giant's foot. he roars in outrage and claws at the giant's foot but is unable to move. as the giant hefts his weapon in both hands over his head maka tun pounces, takling the giant's head and driving him to the wall. the giant comes crassing down with his head near the three. wounds cover his body. father! no! the Seer's rises, and his torso spins around as he swings the cane at cerberus' sword, trying to disarm him.

#471 lunoc Feb 21, 2009 13:54:07	the Seer swings at nicolai, but the cane is caught by jessica. her skin is bone white, her eyes are the color of blood. the Seer pushes against her with all his strength but cannot seem to affect her. your power is nothing. she rips the cane from his hands and strikes him with it once. the gate-Seer is tossed across the room, impaled on the wall near cerberus. jessica imediately falls to the ground unconcious.

(one for each) the dungeon is poorly lit, but still redily disturbing. the floor feels bumpy and uneven, but it is at first unclear why. mutilated null can be seen chained to the walls. voices echo down the corridors. one is that of the gate-seer, and there is alsothe snarling vocalizations of maka-tun reeyak terred? did they follow you seer?* I dont think so. none of them saw me leave. nel kta tofen yrrryak where is the human woman, the one you kept alive? * in that cell there. its a shame really, I wasnt finished with that one, and besides that I could use a whole body till I heal rillah tuh nerrisial, rehheheheha! dont worry, I'll save the leftovers for you.* *what nicolai hears

#497 lunoc Mar 01, 2009 14:05:30	I heard the Seer talking about us I think, then a prisoner steam vents from the furnace exhale hot fumes into the air every few seconds. the broken bodies of null and other bizzare creatures occasionally show sighns of life such as slow, heavy breathing or a slight twich. there is an audible crack under jessica's foot. she looks down, and realises what the floor is made from; the chains that make up the floor weave through and around skelotons embeded into the floor, held in posisions of fear or rage for eternity. the chains snake through their petrified bodies. the crack came from a skull that jessica steped on. a few of the prisoners raise their heads weakly to look at the three humans. what was that?! the voices are speaking to quietly to be understood after that

#499 lunoc Mar 01, 2009 15:50:49	due to the twisting nature of the dungeon, only a few yards ahead can be seen at any time I dont know, probably some sick joke. but this means one of the others is alive! although jessica is speaking quietly, her voice was just loud enough to stir one of the prisoners. the brutalized creature awakes and regards the three humans dully. it does not dare to hope for survival, and only sees them as three more prisoners for maka-tun and Seer to torment. maka-tun's taunting laugh echoes through the dungeon from somewere far ahead. reheheheheha!

He drops to his knees coughing. He brings up one knee to brace himself and brings up the butt of his rifle to try and hit johnathan.

#536 lunoc Mar 14, 2009 15:45:31	the next room is nearly compleatly dark, with only a few rays of light from the furnace below. someone is crying in the middle of the chamber, a familiar female voice. chains stir. the lights expand into large beams, illuminating roughly half of the room. they also continue to change posision like spotlights. the room consists of a circular platform with a pit at the edges. spears and blades cover the walls, all the color of rust and blood. the walkway to reach the platform is wide enough for one person to cross at a time. kassandra (ice's character) is revealed to be chained on the floor and one of her legs appears to be broken. maka tun's snarling maw can be seen over her shoulder. he holds a chain in his claws. he yanks it threateningly nicccolai! ssssktep ffhorewardd!
