Hello,

I am writing for a french fanzine about D&D4.

We try to respect the GSL as much as we can.

I have a question : can i write and adventure based on Eberron or Forgotten Realms setting ?

I will start with the usual "I am not a lawyer..."

I think you'll have issues - if you actually take a good read of the 4E SRD, many setting specific things are missing.  One example: I noticed that none of the Deity names referenced in the PHB1 are mentioned in the SRD which, as I would interpret things, would mean that they're off limits.  The module I'm now writing will have a completely different Pantheon.  I suspect many intellectual property places/characters/pantheon of those two environments are not listed in the SRD as available for use.

One man's opinion.

I would say "absolutely not." The GSL is extremely tightly worded, and doesn't give any allowance for supporting products not listed.

Believe me, I'd love to see some 3rd party support for Dark Sun. Its never going to happen, though. WotC is letting the GSL slowly die off. As the volume of stuff produced by WotC increases, the room for 3rd party work decreases until eventually, there won't be any left.
