I was curious if there was any information regarding HeroLab being able to do a 5th edition file for their program?

I came to the forums wondering this exact same thing.
I haven't played D&D in a few years, we switched over to Pathfinder some time ago.
I want to move back to D&D, and convert our game to D&D 5e, but my players and I all use Hero Labs to create and manage characters. (Its like having spell check for people!) While I'm a little more old school, most of the people I play with are not, and having to teach them character creation without the HL support would not only be a headache, but I think it would make several of them quit. The loss of the HL use in the game would deturr us from switching to D&D Next, a lot of my players feel that it made tabletop more accessible and less intimidating... Would love to hear something from WotC about this. Hero Labs is a great program utilized by a lot of people, it would be a smart move to partner with them.
This would be great. I would love to see WotC partner with Lone Wolf for this sooner rather than later.
This would be a great addition to the RPG line up and a fruitful partnership, IMO but I wouldn't hold your breath, this probably won't happen! 
Absolutely bizarre that the use of a third party program is the deciding factor in whether you'll play D&D or not 
I suspect this isn't going to happen as long as Trapdoor produce the Dungeonscape product WotC and they are promising.

I have used Hero Lab for Pathfinder and find it indespensible as a GM tool and now that they have Realm Works it makes it even more indespensible!! 
I’d love to see Hero Lab support 5e. I just don’t see DungeonScape offering the level of customization that Hero Lab does.
Just wanted to throw in my "Me, too!" Quite frankly, someone from the community is going to do this eventually. WotC might as well sell a license and make some money off it.
I am a "me too" on the Hero labs in 5E as well. I have been using the application for a while now and I love it. I won't say it will decide which game I play be it does influence the decision, e.g. part of the appeal of 5e is the fact that it is streamlined, but if i have an efficient chargen to handle all that stuff in Pathfinder, then it's not really all that big a deal.
On the possiblity of a Chargen for 5e, I have money invested in Herolabs and it does a great jobs. If there is a free "official" Chargen for 5e, I would use it, but I won't be paying for another chargen app, especially on that only supports one game.
For me this sort of co-operation would go a long way to re-establishing Wizards as part of our community rather than trying to control our community, I will continue to play lots of different RPG's, and after my recent experiences 5e will definitely be a part of that, but accessibility is important to me and at the moment 5e doesn't feel as accessible as it could be.

It is nice to be back to pen and paper. I find PF characters miss to many bits if I don't use HL
So now that DungeonScape is no longer teamed with Wizards.... how about licencing these guys... seriously they have an AMAZING track record. Make it happen wizards!

One of the Hero Lab users has already put a data set together for 5th Ed but due to Wizards copyright e.t.c. is not able to distribute. Check out his screenshots over at the Hero Lab forums.
With the return of spell lists for casters, a char. creator/management app would be really useful, and I already use HeroLab for other games. I'd love to be able to use it for D&D.
