Based on feedback from this forum, I made a pretty cool 3D dice roller for iOS. And for the next few days, it's FREE, if you'll promise to rate it or email me feedback on how to make it better.

itunes.apple.com/us/app/dice-and-dragons...

Dice & Dragons is a 3d dice simulator for tabletop roleplaying games. But with some awesome unique features like:

  • Combining your attack, damage, all your bonuses, re-rolls, and what defense to attack all into a Combo Die, that you can then roll and it explodes into all your dice.

  • Does all the math for you for an attack, damage, and criticals.*

  • Add optional sound effects to rolls, so when you fire off your attack you automatically get combat sound effects.

  • Tons of unique 3d dice to roll, with animations, special effects, and more.

  • And it looks pretty sweet.

  • Save Multiple Characters

*Auto Crit math only in 4e.
Anyway, like I said, right now it's free IF you promise to review it if you like it & send me feedback on how to make it better!

I'd love any feedback or opinions. I made it with D&D 4e in mind, so when you make combo dice you can add things like what defense that attack targets and stuff.

It's free right now, so no reason to not check it out!

Nevermind.  Apparently, there's another "Dice and Dragons" app on the app store.  It is crap.  Do not get it.  Downloading yours now.

Yeah, I don't want to diss another dev, but yeah, mine is "dice and dragons" not "dice and dragons d&d 3d" whatever the other one is named. I'd love to hear your opinions. Good or bad.

Thanks for Checking it out Fardiz! Did you download and mess with it? Or mainly check out the page?

So I just looked up the dicenomicon, and honestly, I'm humbled to be compared to it. Looking it over on the site though, we look pretty different.

It looks like dicenomicon is very formula based and more focused on indepth than Dice and Dragons, but also with alot more complication.

I was trying to go for something that focused on ease of use over complication, also I wanted to add in alot of "Fun" that digital dice by default really lacked. Which why I added the fire trails, animated dice, auto sound board features, and the ability to actually throw the dice.

So two different ways to go at the same problem.

I haven't had a chance to use this in actual play yet, but so far it looks pretty good.  The only thing I can really think of to add is a Next critical calculation.  I'm pretty much Next-exclusive as a player now, but I still DM 4E.  I'd like to have my Next weapon crits auto-calculated like 4E in a future version.

I do like the interface.  It's suitably evocative of a fantasy game, which is good.  I still prefer to roll my own dice, but I wouldn't hesitate to turn to this on the (too often) times I forget my dice or when I want to save space when traveling.
