| #1arkenosJun 17, 2008 15:13:03 | (first, i apologize for my bad english as it's not my mother's tongue) This is a simple question : can a press monthly RPG magazine publish as one of many articles, a D&D 4 scenario (alongside other ones for many rpg) right now ? (not in USA) The scenario don't use any direcft quotes of the main books, just either a "refer to MM page X" or original creatures. It's not sold by itself but it's just part of one issue. Did we must wait 1st october ? What about GSL ? Sorry but it's very confusing from my point of view. Thanks ![]() |

If it is going to make use of any 4E materials, or references to, it must wait until the date specified upon the final release of the GSL. |
| #4mightytevJun 17, 2008 15:27:57 | I would guess you'd have to wait until 1st October, and then be bound by all of the other clauses in the GSL. But regardless, you'll have to wait for the GSL to be released either way. |
| #5ascottbayJun 17, 2008 15:37:13 | If you don't want to wait, you could hold off on applying the GSL and ask your lawyer about publishing an adventure without infringing on Wizards' copyrights/trademarks. Your lawyer might say it's just safer to wait, but that's why you consult him. (We also don't know if/how the GSL will work outside the US, and there probably won't be any official non-English translations of the GSL.) |
| #6arkenosJun 17, 2008 18:02:34 | ok thanks for your answers. I'll wait for the GSL then. |
| #7mightytevJun 17, 2008 19:26:20 | ok thanks for your answers. I'll wait for the GSL then. The GSL is now up. As I read it, you can't include a GSL adventure as part of a magazine, unless the whole magazine is a licensed product under the GSL. So that's a no. |
