#1 gnomemaster Feb 04, 2009 18:06:09	So I have been thinking about writing my own Campaign Setting. If I was going to publish it, as far as races go, what can I use? I know I can use Humans, Dwarves, Halflings, Elves, etc. But can I use the world Eladrin? is that considered IP? what about Tieflings and Dragonborn? What if I wanted to make my Elves different, as in culturally, so maybe they are less elfish and more like the Aztecs and Mayans? Would I need a new word for Elf like Jungle Elf? or can I just call them elves. Thanks for the help.

#3 fatumd20 Feb 05, 2009 8:27:08	Per the GSL/SRD (assuming you have signed the SOA), you can use the terms Dragonborn, Dwarf, Eladrin, Elf, Half-Elf, Halfling, Human and Tiefling. For fluff, you can write whatever you like, within reason (the GSL defines this part well enough. No Books of Erotic Fantasy or what not for example). For mechanics, you cannot redefine, only add to.
