It all came together in the Scarred Lands campaign setting. Fiery Dragon, one of their "partner" companies has the rights to remake 2 of the most popular books in the line into 4e. :D Sutaks were a monster from the CC. Magic tatoos were in teh Relics and Rituals.
#4 Alas Aug 15, 2008 12:29:02	I would really like to see an update of the Blood Bayou monsters from one of the later Creature Collections-- they had quite the freaky carnivale krewe ecology going on. With the 4th ed rules geared towards mixed-group encounters, it wuold be easier to give them all their due screentime.

#10 mouthymerc Aug 15, 2008 13:52:01	Having purchased Creature Collection I & II and Relics & Rituals I & II I can honestly say that I feel they are some of the best 3rd party books out there. I'm also a fan of the Scarred Lands setting that they take place in. I'll be looking forward to them when they come out. I especially liked the Gorgons.

The two faves I worked on were Vigil Watch: Warrens of the Ratmen and Shelzar: City of Sins. The biggest bummer was when a few of us had out names missed in the credits for the Ghelspad setting book…and of course, mine was one of them.
#13 jaxgaret Aug 15, 2008 22:06:31	This is awesome news. Good on them for using a "partner" company to get around the 3e/4e block, which was pretty much suggested immediately after people first saw the GSL as a way around it. I'm glad that good 3pps are getting in on 4e.

Those were the only 3pp 3.x books I ever bought, I loved most of the stuff from them, though they also tought me never to allow 3pp books without reading them in full (there was a low level dagger spell that got popped on me that was seriously OP/ broken). I used the mithral golum as one of my main story arcs at one point in time.

A lot of the mechanics and spells were bad or needed a lot of work though, so it wasn't all gravy. However that was relatively easy to fix and did not lessen my enjoyment of the book. The ideas were the key, as they filled me with much evil DMing ideas.

Never got around to picking up Shelzar though... I wanted it, just never got to it.
#23 kradlo Aug 18, 2008 16:35:25	I enjoyed the Creature Collection - it actually came out before the Monster Manual for 3rd edition! That was a major scoop. I later picked up Creature Collection 2 and Creature Collection Revised for 3.5, which was a nice update. I also liked Relics & Rituals, both 1 and 2. I'll definitely be interested in these for 4E.

#29 catzilla Oct 10, 2008 17:54:45	Sword & Sorcery published my favorite 3PP 3e books. I got a lot of mileage out of the three CC's. I was especially fond of CC2. It sounds like the 4e CC will be a 'best of' collection of monsters pulled from all the 3e books. The 3e CC's had a lot of quality fluff. Hopefully that will be carried over to the new edition. The two R&R books were nice; with R&R2 being the better for me. The items and spells had a tendency to be on the overpowered side; however. I had to be careful not to hand out too many goodies from those books. I'm anxious for these to hit the shelves.
#30 raptor112 Oct 23, 2008 23:25:42	Has anyone heard about these products being pushed back? A friend of mine said that CC was pushed back to Feburary at the earliest but I can't find any reference anywhere that Creature Collection has been pushed back at all. I mean obviously it might be cause its slightly more then a week till the end of the month and CC was supose to be out this month. If anyone can give me a link to where it says its been pushed back, or if its been pushed back at all?

Scarred Lands news makes me happy, and to hazard a guess at your question, it might have to do with the refocusing on in-house systems after they merged with CCP. Pretty much all the non-ST system stuff they used to do is now gone (Arthaus, S&S, etc).
