| #1pariahsilverMay 18, 2009 23:49:28 | So I've looked around a while, done some searches, and I can't find any hint that the information provided in supplemental books (Arcane Power and Martial Power being the most immediate and pertinent examples) will ever be included in the SRD. At present they are not, and this concerns me for a few reasons. Say I wanted to publish an adventure, I could not in any way design an NPC fighter who used any of the new fighter powers presented in the Martial Power supplement. If I was writing up a list of new powers for the wizard, I could not include any information that touched upon new wizard information in the Arcane Power supplement (such as an indented note specifying a modified version of the power if you've chosen the Tome of Binding form of Arcane Implement Mastery). I can also never, in any way, include any NPC, player option, or story reference that mentions sword mages in any way. Is there any change to this coming down the line that I've as-yet missed mention of? I really hope so. |

You can write power supplements that key off Wild Magic or Dragon Magic features, but not Cosmic Magic or Storm Magic. Still though, I don't see Wizards changing this any time soon. Chances are, the people in favor of the GSL and SRD to begin with probably had their work cut out for them in the first place, just to manifest these things into existance. Convincing everyone to add everything to the SRD would probably be another huge effort. ~ |

I can't think of any mechanics of the illusionist wizard from Arcane Power that isn't accessible in the SRD. Then again, I didn't check. ~ |

You can use the four implements mentioned in the first PHB(Orb, Wand, Rod, & Staff) though that doesn't mean you can't make your own implements to use. I would like to see more implements added to the SRD though as well as the Brutal property that was in MP. |

There's of course nothing stopping me from creating a bunch of illusion powers, the problem is that I couldn't add parts to any of the powers that modified their effects if the caster had the Orb of Deception type of implement mastery. Not a major loss, but still disheartening and only one example of a great many. |
