Hello,

I run a successful web development company in Boston and I'm also a closet gamer. We are interested in creating a web site where fans can publish and sell their own 4e adventures. Does this violate any of Wizard's liscensing issues? I imagine there is some complication or a site like this would already exist.

Thanks.

How would this be different from RPGNow (link to 4E GSL section) or the store at Paizo.com, both of which sell 4E GSL adventures published by their members? They even sell on behalf of their publishers games/supplements under other licenses. There are other sites like these out there, but they don't spring to mind right now.

The license has more to do with the product itself, as well as the product's marketing materials, than the nature of the store selling it.

Also, the GSL license is available for you or your lawyers to read at www.wizards.com/d20 along with a FAQs sheet.

Thank you. That was helpful. I am familiar with Enworld but I didn't know RPGNow sold 4e GSL materials. I suppose we would directly compete with RPGNow and Paizo. Competition isn't always bad but we would have to determine if the market could support it. In the meantime I will have our lawyers take a look at the license.

Thank you again!

Happy to help. I'd also be interested in seeing where this goes.
