1[W] + strength modifier.?????

what the heck dose this W mean? There are things that say 2 and 3 [W]
first i thought it was wepons. but ruled that out when i saw 3 8 )

Also are all the Toons like the Char builder and stuff not working yet?

Ferinstance... you're wielding a rapier (1d8 damage in 4E) and have a STR mod of +2. 1W+STR means 1d8+2 damage. If you swap the rapier for a dagger, it drops to 1d4+2.

Since most exploits (martial powers) don't care what weapon you use, it's easier to use the shorthand notation.

Also if it says 2[w] means roll your weapon damage twice

2d6 weapon damage
1[W] = 2d6
2[W] = 4d6

1d4 weapon damage
1[W] = 1d4
2[W] = 2d4

Yes, 2[W] means you roll whatever your weapons damage is, twice.

I had just taught myself this after wondering the same thing, took an hour or two to figure it out (While I was looking and doing other things).
