#1 Omnirahk_half-Rahkshi Feb 19, 2012 7:26:38	There are plenty of examples of slightly incompetent mages - spellcasters that whether because of absentmindedness, inexperience, a lack of formal training, or just plain bad luck can't seem to get their spells right.  This doesn't mean they're useless in combat.  Maybe the incompetence is a ruse they drop when life is on the line.  Or maybe their mishaps just happen to take a fortunate form.  They didn't mean for that to happen, but it sure was fortunate.  So let's compile a list of various mishaps to happen: 1)  Chaos Bolt: "Wow.  I didn't know Magic Missile could riccochet like that." 2)  Chains of Fire: An animated piece of rope slithers forward and coils around two foes.  After a moment, it bursts into flames.  "Why does that always happen?" 3)  "Why are you laughing?  What do you mean my face turned blue?!" And share.  What magical mishaps can the rest of you think of?  And as an aside, does anyone know when they're next accepting submissions for Dragon?  I'm going to have to remember to write something up for chaos sorcerers and magical mishaps.

#3 BRJN Feb 24, 2012 20:43:02	My Neverwinter invoker (see my sig) usually uses this to call up his magic: An nal nathrak Uthvas bethud - insert name of power here - Dokh'iel dien vay (Merlin's poem from the movie Excalibur) But when he wants to unleash a Daily, my invoker stammers for a minute and then "accidentally" says this: Ash nazg durbatuluk Ash nazg gimbatul Ash nazg thrakatuluk      agh burzum-ishi krimpatul (Sauron's forging of the One Ring, in the Black Speech.) Then the enemy sees really bad things happen.  And my invoker looks stunned and surprised. Edit: How about Jar Jar Binks, as shown in The Clone Wars?
