| #1ridureyuJun 30, 2009 0:52:56 | Ah, Stone to Flesh. Is this spell even in 4E? It should be. Here is something designed for one specific use - restoring petrified PCs - but that changed dramatically when people realized it should have wider-reaching implications. Flesh to Stone works on all flesh, right? So shouldn't Stone to Flesh work on all stone? Therefore, post here your most creative uses of the spell! For the sake of argument, I am also going to assume that an epic caster is allowed to make Epic Stone to Flesh for the larger-scale "transformations." 1. The party will never run out of rations, but there will be odd pock marks in the landscape. 2. At first the king was never going to allow us back in his castle again, but it turned out that his castle made great bacon. 3. A solution to the Tomb of Horrors that allows for no loss of PC life, and is mighty tasty. Acererak's lair may be ruined, but the villagers will never go hungry again! 4. The Fat Mines of Schmaltzberg are now part of the campaign. 5. Statue of David. Horror. 6. The Goliath Barbarian's obsidian greatsword is now very floppy, and very disturbing. 7. Holy crap, that poor Roper. 8. Holy crap, that poor Xorn. 9. The world is no longer Eberron, or Krynn, or Faerun, or Greyhawk. it is now Spamland. 10. "I eat the golem." 11. That will forever be known as the day the streets sagged into the sewers. 12. "AAAGH! What did you DO to that Slaughterstone Eviscerator? I mean... the metal... the stone bits... the blades... AAAAGH!" 13. Stone giants in disguise! 14. It's no longer a Galeb Duhr, now it's MODOK! 15. "For what you did to his temple, Pelor smites you all. Really hard." 16. Hamburgers fall, everybody dies. |
| #2vman3forceJun 30, 2009 11:11:47 | speaking of tomb of horrors: you know that first trap where the corridor is sealed off with a stone wall and the ceiling drops? stone to flesh the wall, and you get the lovely mental image of a band of adventurers crawling their way out of a blood spurting wall of flesh they have hacked through. Later, when they go up against the gargoyle, stone to flesh essentially ends the fight by turning him into a boneless chicken. Oh, and there were stone spears in a trap at one point that impaled some of the female characters, and were then turned into flesh and flopped out in an uncomfortably phallic way. good times. |
| #3puppypounderJun 30, 2009 12:17:07 | 20. Ruin the Fighter's +5 Armor. :P 21: Cause many dungeons to collapse on themselves and rot with decay in a few days. 22. The majority of traps will be easier to counter. 23. The majority of Golems, Inevitables, and Guardians will be easier to fight. |
| #4prator_the_goldenJun 30, 2009 13:00:31 | 24. Turn the Petrified Forest into the Meattree Wood. 25. Make a Warforged partly fleshy; he is now the Bionic Man. If you can find "Wood to Flesh" and "Metal to Flesh" spells as well, you can turn him into a real boy! 26. The elemental plane of earth will never be the same. For one thing, it will smell funny. 27. Earth elementals will become Pork Elementals. 28. Many buildings have stone foundations, even if most of the construction is wood. Buildings with squishy foundations are so much easier to knock down... 29. With some modifications, the party develops a new superweapon; an Epic Stone-to-Flesh spell, targeted at the core of a planet. Causing the core to transform, melt, and collapse in on itself ensures the immediate devastation of any world. 30. An alternate version of the spell in 29 targets the moon. The new beef-moon won't pull the tides about in the way the old rocky one did, and chaos will ensue. 31. Combine the spell described in #30 with an epic telekinesis spell, and pull the meat-moon down to earth. Wherever it impacts, everyone will die a horrible beefy death. |
| #5mobar2008Jun 30, 2009 13:37:12 | No one has made mention of this, but it is obvious...open a brothel. The girls are all marble statues, you cast the spell when a customer comes in....leaving the rest to your fertile imaginations. |
| #6ShiftkittyJun 30, 2009 14:36:38 | 32. Bar Bet. Walk in with a large chunk of rock. Bet 100 gp that you can eat that rock. Gather ante, cast spell, enjoy meal (quickly), get the hell outta Dodge! |
| #7sockmonkey66Jun 30, 2009 15:28:22 | Unlimited supply of bacon. Wooo! |
| #8stealthmarmotJun 30, 2009 16:47:21 | Reminds me of a threat I remember hearing a cleric say somewhere on these forums. "Out of our way golem or I will make you bleed" "I can't bleed. I am made of stone." "I can fix that." |
| #9ArgoJun 30, 2009 16:58:58 | 33. Can't pick the lock on that heavy wooden door? Cut through the wall next to it with any dagger. 34. Easily bring down anything supported by a stone column. 35. Easily behead the statue of the dictator in the town square. |
| #10ADHadhJul 01, 2009 13:15:09 | No one has made mention of this, but it is obvious...open a brothel. The girls are all marble statues, you cast the spell when a customer comes in....leaving the rest to your fertile imaginations. They would need to be girls first, marble statues second, unless you're targeting the necrophilia market XP. |
| #11mobar2008Jul 01, 2009 18:10:13 | They would need to be girls first, marble statues second, unless you're targeting the necrophilia market XP. Just ruin a perfect business model.... Seriously....I've got nothing. |
| #12sockmonkey66Jul 01, 2009 21:12:58 | Make those useless gems into tasty jerky! |
| #13RoguemagusJul 03, 2009 20:43:50 | In the same vein as the above post... 37. Is your party psionicist being all uppity with his Psi-Crystal? Turn it into meat! |
| #14stealthmarmotJul 03, 2009 21:15:06 | Psionics, with Psi-Meat?! I would totally add psionics in my game if they had to walk around using steaks and turkey legs! |
