4e Essential Reading?

Jul 01, 2009 20:14:43 I thought I had saved the portion of the poster's signature....but didn't.

Someone who posts regularly had a list of pages in the PHB that they considered "essential" reading for players of 4e.

Can someone direct me to that information?

Jul 01, 2009 20:48:40 I'd say either Decivre or Calronmoonflower off the top of my head, but those are just guesses. Try looking up their Profiles, maybe?

Minimum essentia in reading the PHB:
1. “Three Basic Rules” on page 11 (< 1 page)
2. “Power Types and Usage” on page 54 (< 1 page)
3. “Short Rest + Extended Rest” on page Page 263 (< 1 page)
4. "Combat" Chapter 9 (31 pages)
5. "Skills" Pages 178 and 179, from “Skill Training” to “Knowledge Skills” (< 2 pages)
6. "Feats" Page 192 (1 page)
7. "Conditions" Page 277 (1 page) c/o TheBouncyPherret
Total essentia: ~38 pages.

Now that you know what the rules are you can read the parts of the book that you skipped in whatever order you feel like.
