4e - Paladin & Warlord or Ranger & Warlord

Jul 06, 2008 22:22:54 Starting first 4e campaign with 6 PCs. Already have Human Cleric, Halfling Rogue, Eladrin Wizard, and Dwarf Fighter. I'm intent on playing an Elf, buddy intent on Dragonborn. So should we have an Elf Ranger/Archer and Dragonborn Warlord OR Elf Warlord and Dragonborn Paladin?

Jul 06, 2008 23:32:13 Go with what you want to play. That's the best advice I can give. If there is no niche to fill, and it sounds like your party is pretty well balanced, then I think your options are wide open then.

I remember the old days of AD&D when there would be five of us and we would all run fighter types, or all run a wizard. While it never hurts to have a good balance of player types, it's fun to do crazy stuff sometimes and run 6 rangers.

Be creative and just have fun, that's all that matters.

Yeah I would say play whatever you want. I don't particularly the idea of inflicting roles upon player classes. I remember the old days of AD&D when there would be five of us and we would all run fighter types, or all run a wizard. While it never hurts to have a good balance of player types, it's fun to do crazy stuff sometimes and run 6 rangers.

Be creative and just have fun, that's all that matters.

I don't see that type of restriction now.
