I know I'm going to get flamed by some people for this but, I am creating a drow ranger on the idea of what would drizzt be like if he never left menzaberrazan.

My idea is that he is part of Bregan D'aerthe and is ordered to infultrate the party to gain information of the going-ons of events in the campaign

I wanted some ideas from the community on how you would play him as far as personality, mannerisms, and fighting styles besides dual wield scimitars.

Also playing in 3.5 rules

As far as roleplay goes, if he's meant to be infultrating them, then he would likely fabricate a false personality to try and blend in. Kind of like a stage personality which he uses to appeal to the PC's, when really he's quite a cold and calculating individual. To add extra dramaticness, make his stage personality drastically different then his real life counterpart so that when he does make his move, he will be ready and dangerious.

As far as class styles go, I would probably play him crossed with a rogue, since rogues are very good at getting into places where they are not welcome, and the extra damage dice gives the image of a well trained individual for the role of estpianarge and assissination. If you really wanted to take it further, then I would recommend prestaging into assissin for the dark themed kill spells and to eventrally be able to hide in the shadows of those you hunt.

I am sure there are other recommendations out there, those are just the steriotypical ones I can think of. Take two levels in Ranger, go into Rogue, then follow up with assissin for a firmly dangerious agent, though that has been done before. XD

Thank you that is a good build idea. I will have to use that some day.
