Each ray requires a ranged touch attack to hit and deals 4d6 points of fire damage. The rays may be fired at the same or different targets, but all bolts must be aimed at targets within 30 feet of each other and fired simultaneously. ________________________________________________________________ Melf's Acid Arrow Conjuration (Creation) [Acid] Level: Sor/Wiz 2 Components: V, S, M, F Casting Time: 1 standard action Range: Long (400 ft. + 40 ft./level) Effect: One arrow of acid Duration: 1 round + 1 round per three levels Saving Throw: None Spell Resistance: No A magical arrow of acid springs from your hand and speeds to its target. You must succeed on a ranged touch attack to hit your target. The arrow deals 2d4 points of acid damage with no splash damage. For every three caster levels (to a maximum of 18th), the acid, unless somehow neutralized, lasts for another round, dealing another 2d4 points of damage in that round. Material Component Powdered rhubarb leaf and an adder’s stomach. Focus A dart. On the scorching ray; When is says "plus one additional ray for every four levels beyond 3rd" and melfs acid arrow says "For every three caster levels (to a maximum of 18th)" does melfs acid arrow also only count beyond 3rd or does the spell supposed to specificly state so. |
| #2arcana_manApr 07, 2009 13:29:17 | In the spell compedium there is a spell in there called BloodStar i actually at first copied it down then relized that might be breaking the terms of agreement since its not on SRD so ill just quote a small passage from a sentance. "Any creature you initially designate within 10 feet of the bloodstar that take damage from any source must make a saving throw. On a failed save, the victim takes 1 point of constitution damage. Each time the victoms are damaged they can attempt new saves. If i combine this with magic missile at lvl 10 and shoot 5 bolts... does it have a chance to deal 5 constitution damage? Magic Missile Evocation [Force] Level: Sor/Wiz 1 Components: V, S Casting Time: 1 standard action Range: Medium (100 ft. + 10 ft./level) Targets: Up to five creatures, no two of which can be more than 15 ft. apart Duration: Instantaneous Saving Throw: None Spell Resistance: Yes A missile of magical energy darts forth from your fingertip and strikes its target, dealing 1d4+1 points of force damage. The missile strikes unerringly, even if the target is in melee combat or has less than total cover or total concealment. Specific parts of a creature can’t be singled out. Inanimate objects are not damaged by the spell. For every two caster levels beyond 1st, you gain an additional missile—two at 3rd level, three at 5th, four at 7th, and the maximum of five missiles at 9th level or higher. If you shoot multiple missiles, you can have them strike a single creature or several creatures. A single missile can strike only one creature. You must designate targets before you check for spell resistance or roll damage. And also that passage on bloodstar mayby its a little long ... does anyone know i need to remove it.. if its breaking terms of agreement? But man if this worked i would just summon a crystal and the following round cast a magic missile and another quickend magic missile for a chance to deal 10 constitution damage in 1 turn that incredible... but im getting ahead of myself. The same can be asked about scorching ray and melf's acid arrow seen on the previous post |
