| #1clig76Nov 23, 2009 19:55:29 | My group meets far and few between. In our off time I am always itching to get some combat in. Does anyone ever set up arena type matches (against monsters) to practice tactics and maybe get some XP? I was thinking of doing this. Seems like it would be fun. |

I made exstra care to tailor the encounters to the players, so they would get hard pressed, but not smeared over the floor. Then I added terrain modifers/strategic challenges based on what combat they were in. (A tower, a chariot, a water grave, pits, etc.... and thoose neat enviromental hazards from DMG2. Made for Quite a few interesting fights, and is very good training for learning players to think outside of the "spamming at-wills" way ![]() |

| #4TelinArthoNov 25, 2009 16:07:27 | Not sure if you were looking for something tied to your campaign or if you are looking for arena type games to play in addition to your campaign. If it is the latter, I'd recommend the Core Coliseum. I'm the GM over there and we run weekly fights. Also - if you do a search under Groups you'll find another arena environment for mid-paragon levels. I haven't personally tried it out - but it might interest you. If you did want something tied to your campaign, the Core Coliseum has a fair number of resources that might be useful to you if you.
