hi there,
we started a new game and we had our first meeting to create the characters. also we gave the GM some ideas for the first adventure but my githzerai avenger of tempus dont really fit with the other characters in case of the backstory. the others are a deva shaman, kobold druid and human fighter. the other reason is that i am non-religious in real life, so i cant reconstruct to be zealotic.
What would you advice??
Change your power source and power types to Primal, and voila. 
I've actually considered that for my homebrew world, lol.
