Hey guys, I'm new to the world of D&D and eager to start!

Looking for people who have D&D  sessions over Skype.

My advice, unless you're physically unable to play in person with other people, find a local group of players and join them in person instead.  If you're just learning, skip the Skype if possible and do some searches on the net for gaming groups in your area.  Game shops often have bulletin boards, either online or at their locations, for just such a situation.  Also, consider looking into D&D Encounters (info on the D&D website with a store locator).  Lots of new and experienced players do Encounters and I do believe that playing face to face with other people around a real table is the best way to learn.

Otherwise, if you absolutely can't do that, soak up everything you can via Skype and be patient and open to learning while playing.  It'll take a little longer to get into it if you're not all sitting around a table but you can still definitely have fun.

Pick up a Players Handbook or Rules Compendium if you haven't already. Look for local gaming shops and get your name out there. When you finally get in a group, be on time and prepared with gaming materials. Once the playing begins, look for opportunities to help solve problems. In the meantime, educate yourself and the rules and get some characters ready, to use or just for practice.
