#1 monis Jul 03, 2008 23:01:49	I'm considering starting DnD. I've played the mini game a bit and I like it quite a bit. So I'm just wondering what all do I need to play? What books and other stuff and is there a player finder thing on this site to find players in my area? Thank you for the help.
#2 Novacat Jul 03, 2008 23:08:15	To play, all you need is the Player's Handbook. If you are going to run the game, you'll need the Dungeon Master's Guide and the Monster Manual. In previous editions, they've said this same thing, but it wasn't true (in 3.5, a player needed the Dungeon Master's Guide for magic items, and sometimes the Monster Manual for summoned monsters and such). In Fourth Edition, it has finally become true. A player needs nothing other than the PHB. As for finding players in your area, I probably can't help you. Where, exactly, is your area?
