Alright, now before the flamers get outa hand, this is NOT an accusitory thread that D&D 4e is "To Anime".

It is, in fact, inspired by my DMs latest game in which every character had to pick a anime, video game, or book character and make them into a 4e D&D character and how best to do it.

In my party, we have Tuxedo Mask, Young Link, Ganondorf, Vash, and One of the Ray earth girls (Can't remember which one).

So, here is the example. Tuxedo Mask would be best represented by a human Rogue, with specialty in dagger throwing. High dex and high cha, he would eventually paragon path into daggermaster.

Young Link is a elf fighter, who uses a long sword and light shield (Until he gets the hyrulian shield of course, then it's heavy!;)). He carries several vials of alchemic fire as "Bombs", the mounted combat feat so he can ride "Epona" and carries a shortbow. He also keeps a climbers kit on him for the grappling hook.

Ganondorf is a drow dark pact warlock, multi classed to fighter. He carries a massive sword he uses in a pinch, but mostly it's the darkness blasts.

I know the least about our vash, except that he is a ranger (For the speed shiftyness) with a repeating crossbow for a gun, and a warforged arm with a great crossbow component.

And i don't really know anything about the ray earth girl, except that she's filling the healer girl.

The point of this thread? Critique these, come up with your own, and figure out which would be best. For example, what would YOUR favorite character be? Or perhaps, might their be a better path for link than fighter?

Oh, well, I just assumed that the title saying "Anime" and not "videogame" threw me off.

And, according to Google Translater, that means "Ah yes boux", so I think you meant something else.

I built link as a half-elf Fighter with Scorching Burst as his Dilettante power, the Ranger MC feat for Hunter's Quarry, a Light Shield/Heavy Shield and Broadsword, and either Hide or Chainmail depending on which game you want and which age from that game. Link wears chainmail in Twilight Princess. It was a pretty good build too.

EDIT: upon second thought, the above sounds VERY bad...

Hm. I dunno...
A strict translation might be bad. Going looser, though...
Give me a few minutes. I'll give some rough ideas.

EDIT: Okay, here we go.
Ryo (Red, fire, two katanas): Fighter MCed to TWF Ranger.
Kento (Orange, earth, naginata/3-section-staff): Fighter with lots of area strike powers?
Cye (Light blue, water/ice, Trident-mancatcher...thing): Cleric, maybe a laser Cleric?
Rowan (Dark blue, air/space, Longbow with infinite arrow quiver): Archery ranger.
Sage (Green, Life/light, Greatsword): Paladin.

For their big finisher moves, they can either be reflavored encounter/daily powers, or special dailies from their equipment. Of course, they're pretty much using artifact level items, so that kind of skews it.
But flavor-wise, and core "person concept"-wise, I say those would be solid starting points.

It's 'weeaboo' spells phonetically so as to appear french.

'weeaboo' is an obnoxious term of derision used to describe people that like anything from Japanese culture. Use of the term 'weeaboo' is a clear indicator of someone you don't need to pay any attention to.

Here are a few from Tales of Symphonia:

Lloyd Irving: Human Two-Weapon Ranger (Wields wither Scimitars or Longswords)

Kratos Aurion/Zelos Wilder: Human Swordmage using a Heavy Shield.

Raine: Half-Elf Devoted Cleric.

Presea: Human Fighter with an Execution Axe

Lina Inverse from Slayers as an infernal pact warlock with wizard multi class feats (just for fireball and couple of others)

Goury is straight fighter with the swordmaster prestidge class.

Zelgadis would be...... shaman when we get it with fighter multi class.

Xellos would be built using npc rules.

Lina - Wizard with Hellock MC.
Amelia - Cleric.

Fuu Hououji (The Healer girl from Rayearth) - Warlord OR Cleric (either would fit in my opinion) Multi into Archery Ranger. For their starting weapons, Umi and Hikaru both got swords, but Umi had a bow. When they upgraded weapons and she got a sword instead, it annoyed me. She lost flavor.

No, I don't have two book cases full of anime, honest.

Anyone else got suggestions? Most characters are still open! ;)

Most of the characters in Lodoss are obviously archetypal D&D characters, at least if you look back at 1st edition.

Parn would be, if you'll excuse my saying so, a Paladin without the divine flavor. Deedlit works fine as a re-flavored Wizard of the Spiral Tower or a Swordmage, although there are plenty of other options. Slayn is a pretty textbook Wizard. Etoh is also a pretty textbook Cleric. Woodchuck is a bit old school Rogue, with an emphasis on thievery. Ghim is a textbook Fighter. Orson is a textbook Barbarian with a bit of unique flavor (the Japanese don't have the same western mythos of berserkers as heroes, so their berserkers tend to be possessed of evil spirits). Shiris probably works best as a Rogue now.

As far as supporting characters, Kashue is probably now a Warlord, while the rest fit pretty well into the existing archetypes of Fighter and Wizard. Fahn might be a Paladin as well, depends on how you view the Knights of Valis.

He's the weird guy. He's not evil, but also not good. He is loyal to boot, though. Unaligned, maybe?

Ashram I imagine, could be very well a Paladin, albeit with less divine fluff or a straight fighter with plate proficiency...

Id say Ashram would be a warlord with plate armour.

I'd say Laser Cleric with reflavoring. She likes ranged attacks and lockdown and she's definately got the highest Wis of the 3. Just alter her binds to wind and her lasers to arrow.

I'm currently working on an adventure path based on A Perfect Cherry Blossom but I get to cheat because NPCs don't have to follow the rules.

Nice, if I were running a game I have an idea for one done like rayearth where everyone plays themselves and then gets abilities after being drawn into a magical world, though with my group it would probably end up being more like El Hazard.

C'mon guys, nobody yet who wants Lodoss? *g*

I mean, I know it's easy to boot, but hey, with 4E we can model Lodoss better than before in my eyes... I mean Paragon Paths and Epic Destinies can greatly enhance the builds - Just think Eto, give him some PP and add on top an Epic Destiny that relates to his abilities to bring his whole city into a fighting rage.

How about Parn? Makes a straight Fighter and give him maybe the Swordmaster Paragon Path.

Deedo? Either wait until we got a Shaman or slap on her the Feylock-Patch.

Anyone else got suggestions? Most characters are still open! ;)

Or....you could just play the Sword World RPG that Lodoss was based on.

Incidentally, I've decided that I absolutely must play a Monk flavored after Fist of the Northstar's Kenshiro once the rumored 4th Edition redux of Dark Sun comes out.

Hmmm... As a Devil May Cry fan, I MUST attempt to stat out Dante!

But it's hard...

I mean, he has to be like four different classes! When he wields Rebellion, he's a great-weapon fighter or avenging paladin; when he's wielding Agni and Rudra, he's a Two-Blade Ranger (or a Tempest Fighter); and, when he's using his guns, he's an Archer Ranger.

And that's ignoring his Devil Trigger, and his Royal Guard style (though that would be rectified with the Monk class, when it come out).

Kenshin.... At first, i thought fighter with katana, but then i realized that this really isn't kenshin's style.

Then i thought ranger powers, but was bummed when i realized that would reaquire two weapon fighting, which kenshin doesn't use.... or does he?

Think about it, several times he uses his reverse blade sword AND The sheath as weapons, in fact his style revolves around blazing speed combined with using both as weapons, sometimes trading off to double hand the sword for increase power!

So kenshin is offically a ranger... something so damn badass about that.

lodoss was originally based off of d&d actually. Sword if I remember came later on, but I could be wrong i just remember a different thread discussing that matter. I'm kinda curious to see how people would do various Bleach characters as 4E characters. I think a standard Shingami would be a Fighter/Wiz or Wiz/Fighter, people more like Rukia would be more like SM/Wiz, and someone like Kenpachi would be straight Barb. But I'm curious as to what other people think. (Also got no idea for Ichigo, a spellscar doesn't seem to even come close to his Mask powers, which really just seem to be a boost in speed, str, etc. (3.5 Tenser's Transformation)). I'm also curious as to how people would do Dark Scheider or Arshes Nei from Bastard!! They both have Wiz in there somewhere, i think...

Well, for Shinigami, I'd say Swordmage for the more martial-minded of them. A lot of their ability comes from their "spiritual power", and a lot of the Swordmage stuff seems more capable of being tweaked to "flash step around the battelfield and hit people". Of course, it's a pretty big continuoum. You've got over 100 characters in there, of all kinds. The big problem is their zanpaktous; those things drastically change character's abilities and even fighting styles...

I'm not exactly familiar with artifact rules, but from what i have seen, that would probably be a good place to start. Like once they reach a certain score, they get an encounter to up their weapon's power and that property that changes what he actual weapon is. Bankai would be some sort of daily. . .hmm I'll have to look into this...

Actually, Not only was Record of Lodoss War based off D&D, but so was Slayers.

The original creator was basically a big geek, who loved D&D and the D&D novels. He began writing the original Slayers novels from the point of view of his fighter (Gourry) in his weekly D&D games.
The Manga and Anime followed from that.
But in the end, Slayers is pretty directly decended from the D&D sessions of a group of Japanese powergamers.

And frankly, I would have LOVED to be in on those games.

Scapped Princess: Shannon & Christopher are Fighters, Raquel is a wizard, Leopold is a Paladin, Furet is a brutal Rogue/Fighter, Princess Senes is a Swordmage, and Berkins is obviously a Cleric of Mauser. I'd say the various members of the Obstinant Arrows are all Fighters, Wizards, and Rogues. Oh, and the Providence Breaker herself? I'm guessing 5 levels of Mulligan. ;)

(Go check this series out. It's good stuff.)

Samurai Champloo: Mugen is an artful dodger Rogue, Jin is a Fighter (or maybe a brutal Rogue/Fighter?). Fuu's the DM's pet NPC (or a 3e bard).

Gantz: Kurono is an archer Ranger/Rogue, Kato is a Fighter, Kishimoto is a, uh, cheerleader. Yeah.

Naruto would be interesting, but would require more thought than I wish to give it right now.

They actually did a Slayers D20 RP but that's beside the point.

Lina is most asuredly a "wizard", as in the Slayers universe, all Black Magic comes from The Dark Lord, all White Magic comes from Cephied etc. So hence that means ALL wizards would be "warlocks" if you use that logic but their overall skill set fits Wizard better than it does warlock. Zelgadis more honestly fits under Warlock, but I could be wrong, the "shaman" is hard to approximate with 4e. It's also important to remember that in Slayers all of the characters are seriously EPIC, since they have taken on godlike beings and won. It would also require some tweaking to get it perfect, since Lina obviously has at least a level or two in Fighter (using 3e rules) as she is clearly able to make effective attacks with weapons.

Fuu Hououji Had the Bow, Hikaru Shidou had a broadsword, Umi Ryuzaku had a rapier

CCS

Sakura Kinomoto would be a 3rd edition wizard, scribe spells on cards instead of spellbook, require cards as focus. she would have high dexteirty in training in acrobatics and athletics (both keyed off dex instead of str)

Tomoyo Daidouji would be a 3rd edition bard (when it comes out) focused on cheering sakura on.

Syaoron Li would be a 3rd ed monk with broadsword proficiency multiclassed into wizard

Meiling Li would be a 3rd ed straight Dex based monk with high acrobatics modifiers

I have yet to translate that friens gaia characters that have gone short story mode

Shuriken Nekogami is a 3e Gestalt rogue//psion focused on illusions, transmutations, nukes, and sneak attacking from a distance with any weapo, or attacking with a rapier, wakizashi or tantou with Zingabillion d6's, in fact she rivals pun pun

Kodachi nekogami is a 3e gestalt rogue//psychic warrior focused on both the Odachi and Duakl spiked chains interchangeably

Chekura (Prounounced Chekra) Hinotsuki is basically a fire elf psion (Kineticsist)//samurai/monk/shoudisciple/iaijutsu master focused on channeling hellfire in melee as well as novaing with hellfire ignoring any resistance or immunity

Have you ever thought about the swordmage for a Kenshin build?

I know the basic mechanics of the swordmage don't work for Kenshin (being of the Arcane power source and attacks based off of Int instead of Martial power source and Dex-based attacks), but some of the effects of the swordmage (ie teleporting and... alright, nothing else comes to mind right now) are similar to what Kenshin could do in the anime.

I mean, let's face it, that man was well past extraordinary and clearly in the category of supernatural.

From the cast of Disgeae:

Disgaea 1:

Laharl: Tiefeling fighter with mage multiclass (for the Overlord's Wrath and Comet abilities). Spec in 2 Handed swords. Unaligned (claims Chaotic evil)
Etna: Tiefeling spear and axe spec fighter with rogue multiclass. unaligned
Flonne: Deva Devoted Cleric works pretty well for her. Maybe with a little ranger multiclass to help with bow abilities. Neutral good
Captain Gordon, Defender of Earth: Human inspiring warlord would be how he sees himself. Lawful Good
Jennifer: Human Monk, considering her kung fu, and a very very high Int score. Lawful Good
Thursday: Warforged. Lawful Good

Disgaea 2:
Adell: Firesoul Genasi, Monk, since he only fights with fists. Lawful Good (verging on lawful stupid)
Rozalin: Tiefeling Rogue, multiclass warlord, what with her being noble and bossy. good with crosbows (guns) Unaligned, then good
Tink: errr... Second rate familiar ?
Hanako: Tiefeling Inspiring Warlord (she has a lot of boost powers) good (slightly chaotic)
Taro: Tiefeling Defensive fighter. Good. In gameplay terms, he's usualy the tank of the team.
Yukimaru: Ice Genasi Swordmage (with of lot of ice and teleport abilities) ZAM ! Good Being a ninja with ice and special sword attacks, that gies quite well .
Can't do Disgaea 3 since I don't own a PS3.

I'm not sure. He wields an oversized sword (part of the time), and most of his attacks seem martial in nature (well, martial for a grim reaper, anyway). His only real "supernatural" attack would be Getsugo Tensho. ... I'm not sure where Ichigo would fall on the 4E scale.

You are also forgetting Shunpo, or Flash Steps, probably a utility teleport effect, or rather multiple utilities. Still he would probably work out best as a Swordmage/Fighter or maybe Spellscarred for his Hollow powers. But does Spellscarred get a stance which can dramatically increase his attack, damage, and speed?

EDIT: No Spellscarred stances, maybe just general Swordmage stances. . . on a side note though, The Spellscarred Impossible Flurry is like a perfect example of Yoruichi attack on the Special Forces Members before her fight with Soifon in the SS arc.

Saw this and just couldn't help but reply; in said Slayers D20 game, Lina was in fact an epic multi-classed character. 10th level Witch (base magic user), 1st level Warrior (base Fighter), 2nd level Loremaster (pseudo-Bard base class) and 6th level Sorceress (Black Magic specialist Prestige Class) by the end of season 1 alone. She added a level to Loremaster and Sorceress in each subsequent season.

Anyway, to get back on topic, I wholeheartedly agree that the Wizard is, at the least, Lina's base class- she uses very few spells that aren't explosive blasts. While the possibility of multiclassing to Hell'lock for some extra fire spells isn't entirely out of reach, I'd say she's an Epic Female Human Wizard with the Battle Mage (or possibly a fire-themed homebrew variant of the Spellstorm Mage) Paragon Path and the Archmage Epic Destiny.

On the same topic, for the other Slayers characters...
Gourry would be a low to average-Epic Male Human Fighter with the Swordmaster (alternatively: Kensai focusing on Broadsword) Paragon Path and the Eternal Defender Epic Destiny.

Zelgadis is a tricky one, but I'd say low-Epic Swordmage with Wizard multiclassing for his class. As for his race, well, I've tried to convert the templates to 4e, but have proven unsuccessful (mainly because I haven't been able to find anyone to help)- in their absence, I'd go for Genasai (primary manifestation: Earth).

Amelia is a low-Epic/average-Paragon Female Human Cleric with either the Radiant Servant Paragon Path or Paladin multiclassed. In the latter case, an Epic Amelia would likely have the Justicar Paladin Paragon Path.

Xellos is a level 26+ Outsider-type monster, most likely of the Artillery or Mastermind roles.

Filia is a low to average-Epic Female Dragonborn (Golden Dragon, if I can get anyone to help me convert it) Cleric/Radiant Servant/Demigod

Yusuke is, IMO, a Paladin with Warlock multiclass (for the ranged blasts). This could also explain away his ridiculous stamina and ability to recover quickly after getting clobbered.

Kuwabara is still a Soulknife, which I imagine will be coming in the future (the mind flayer pic in the Monster Manual has me convinced). Barbarian multiclass would suit him, I imagine.

Hiei....Swordmage/Warlock? Warlock/Swordmage? Hard to say...

Kurama's really tough...might have a better idea after PHB2 is released, though.

Hm. Part of the potential issue is the relatively unique nature of his bankai; all the others that we've seen so far basically crank the previous form (shikai) "up to 11". His actually gets smaller, or at least his weapon does. His physical strength seems to get a slight increase, but his speed goes...hm. "Way up" doesn't feel strong enough. His one "supernatural" attack changes color (fluff) and gets stronger.
Bleach is honestly a bit tougher than some animes, more because the characters have such a wide variety of abilities, and the abilities can get so ridiculously powerful. Makes for fun reading/watching, but tougher to just translate as a game.

That said, Ichigo, in a general port, seems to be a fighter/swordmage of some kind. He hits things with his sword. In fact, I daresay he may even be a barbarian, or have some barbarian abilities...

Sesshoumaru from Inuyasha

Lvl 99 Eladrin Swordmage/Wizard/Fighter/FeyInferStarDarklock/Cleric

He has Fey Step as an at-will minor action, shifts up to half his speed as an at-will free action and moves at 20 speed. As a free action he can raise any dead adjacent character once per encounter and once per tier for the target.
As an at-will minor action he can attack with a whip of energy (range 5) or attack with a close burst 1 poison attack that deals 30 poison damage and 30 ongoing poison damage (save ends) and leaves the target vulnerable 20 to poison until the end of the encounter. Upon landing a melee attack upon a target (if they don't die first), they are marked until the end of the encounter or another mark superceeds. When the marked target takes any action, Sesshoumaru gains an immediate interrupt basic attack or takes a minor action.

Kamina (Gurren Lagann, of course). Inspiring Warlord, maybe? But that suggests tactics other than "beat them up"...

Personally, I think Kamina is a Barbarian/Warlord multiclass. He doesn't ever give up (even stalling his own demise) while using his determination/stubbornness in battle to inspire his comrades.

Simon is a Swordmage/Warlord multiclass. Why swordmage, you ask? Well, so far its the only class that lets you GROW a class size for an encounter. It also gives him a boost to his health (doesn't ever go down) and the AC you get from the warding is similar to a Spiral shield. The warlord multi is so he can inspire his comrades like Kamina.

Yoko is probably a Greatbow Ranger with the never-ending quiver of arrows.

Viral is TWF Ranger, with his penchant for dual-wielding katanas and all.

I'd probably say Lord Genome is straight Swordmage, or Swordmage/Monk multi, but we don't know what the Monk will look like in 4E...

Ah, I love the combination of DND and Anime. They work so well together, since they are both fantasy realms in which the fantastic occurs. Also, I've noticed that playing up an anime feel, which tends to just happen by itself in my group, tends to lend balance to games in that combat characters have a mentality of achieving awesome "special attacks" that make them stay just as useful as mages.

Also, as a graphic novelist myself, I draw inspiration from both categories, so I tend to create manga comics with a dnd fantasy setting, with characters I developed through roleplaying. The result is always awesome, especially since the combat focus of DND and shonen anime overlap so well.

Thanks for posting this, I love to hear other people like me enjoy the combination!

Hm.

Interesting question. What would you think the 3-section-staff would be in 4e. Double flail, heavy flail, or new homebrew weapon. On Wikipedia ( I know, reliable source.), it says that the sanjiegun was used as a flail type weapon so you could figure it could be one of the above.

Sorry, I mainly ask cause I've had a bad itch to make a three-section staff character since the lose of my 3.5 monk. That and this weapon is bad-ass.

I'd say the Spike Chain and Double Flail are closest in intent.

On my side I've been thinking of recreating fruity butterfly themed Zhang He from the Dynasty Warrior series. He'd be such a funny character. An effeminate guy with claws who keeps ranting about beauty and such. Probably worships Corellon.

The problem is I've hit a snag. The Katar is the best weapon to aprocimate his clawed gauntlet weapons, and the Ranger got the best close combat powers to approximate the 'massive minion killer' style of Dynasty Warrior but the katar is a off-hand weapon and I could get some bonus out of the Tempest Fighter :/

Still off-hand. So the Tempest Fighter get the most bonus out of off hand weapons but the Ranger get the most fitting powers.

For Nanoha, I'll say that at the first season, everyone was around mid to upper paragon. They were at low to mid epic in the second and mid to high epic in the third. I'll say implement would be staff unless otherwise stated.

Nanoha: Wizard/Battle Mage/Archmage I say battlemage as her starlight breaker becomes more powerful due to it gathering power from abosrbing the residue of other spells that have been casted previously in the battle. Closing Spell would be a good subsitute for that in DnD as it becomes more powerful when it is the last spell cast. Also, I think that she would most probably be a defensive build due to her high endurance and that she took Fate's phlanax shift without much injury, suggesting high REF, FOR ,WILL and AC.

Fate: Wizard/Spiral Tower/Archmage Spiral tower due to her affinity for melee combat. TBF, i have absolutly no idea how to transfer her abilities over for DnD. Her ability should be speed and teleporation based, tho.

Hayate: Wizard/Blood Mage/Archmage Implement: Spellbook. All her spells really are just read out from her spellbook. For DnD, we probably have to use an orb instead(unless of couse Arcane power gives us some new implements). As for why I chose Blood mage, she is stated to be the most powerful(damaging) of the three, but has the lowest defenses, even the weakest physcial character was said to be able to best her in melee combat.

I'll stop here for now. I may even continue on for some of the other characters some other day, but for now, I have more pressing matters to attend to. Like say, dinner.

Zhang He is a ranger/fighter/Stormwarden with Scimitar Dance, and scimitars refluffed into claws. Fighter for a minion auto-killing stance, Scimitar Dance for "grace and beauty", and Stormwarden for even more minion auto-killing and "grace and beauty". Lightning is the de facto element of most Dynasty Warriors characters anyway, seeing how it's the element that always gets picked because it's essentially the best one in every game.

Nanoha: Wizard/Battle Mage/Archmage I say battlemage as her starlight breaker becomes more powerful due to it gathering power from abosrbing the residue of other spells that have been casted previously in the battle. Nanoha is a Constitution/Intelligence warlock with the Twofold Pact feat for both the Infernal Pact and the Star Pact; that much is pretty obvious, given how she's all about the damage, and how Doom of Delban is your generic anime wave motion gun. Fate is an Aegis of Assault swordmage, seeing how she had more of a melee focus. Now, as a bonus, Vita exemplifies the Hexhammer build with a Pact Hammer.

Also, I remember posting about Touhou power cards for 4e a while back... any Touhoufags here?

IMAGE(http://1d4chan.org/images/b/bd/T%26Dcoverart.jpg)

The outside board known as /tg/ (if you don't know what that is, don't ask) has been working on some power cards for D&D 4e. Since a good deal of the 4e supporters and optimizers on that board are interested in Touhou, these power cards have been modeled after the Touhou TCG, Rumbling Spell Orchestra: http://1d4chan.org/wiki/Touhou_Power_Cards

As such, the cards emphasize preserving the aesthetics of the Rumbling Spell Orchestra cards over ease-of-use. Still, it's a cute little project for anyone interested in both Touhou and D&D 4e.

The project turns cards like these (they're thumbnails, click on them for the full pic):

My two favorite villains in Samurai Champloo are Sara and Umanosuke.

Sara was the blind musician that carried her spear in her walking stick. She'd be a Fighter/Ranger/Kensai/???? with Blind-Fight feat and Utility Preternatural Senses to compensate for her blindness. If you seen her fight, she is clearly epic. Vid Here

Umanosuke was one of the brothers that fought with Mujen. His weapons was a staff/kusari-gama that could reach 40ft long and cut stone. This is just a re-flavored spiked chain used by a Fighter/Kensai or Dread Reaper/Eternal Defender. Why Eternal Defender? Simple, more reach.

There is a nice vid of Umanosuke Here

My next fighter will be one of these two, just haven't decided yet.

Kenshin is definately a rogue in his back story, and already an accomplished assassin. Afterwards he becomes much more defendery in personality as well as actions. Feats include quick draw and powerful charge.

I have a few builds for Kenshin I've been tossing around.

The one I like the best:
Brutal Scoundrel Rogue [Ranger]/Cat Burglar/Eternal Seeker.

Uses a Rapier as the Sakabatou, and the Saya is a reflavored Mace. Eternal Seeker both fits him, and allows him grab Hurricane of Blades from Barbarian.

Other one's I've used in the past are:
Ranger [Rogue]/Cat Burglar/Eternal Seeker
Swordmage [Ranger]/Wandering Swordmage/Eternal Seeker

Also, on the subject of BLEACH, I've done some interesting theorizing on the subject of Zanpakutou, although none it's posted here. Mostly involving custom artifacts, with concordance 20 needed for Bankai. Also, I'm feeling rather confident that the best class for Kidou using Shinigami is going to be Sorcerer when it comes out. Probably Sorcerer [Fighter] or Sorcerer [Rogue] for the ones that are in combat alot, although I'm not sure what to do about healing....

Maybe start them in Bard and multiclass alot.

Also, I remember posting about Touhou power cards for 4e a while back... any Touhoufags here?

I had not heard of it until you posted this---but boy, am I grateful you did! Brilliant idea, lovely cards, and I've subscribed to that thread.

Anime-based power cards---I wanna make some of my own! Although, I would really like to make the artwork in my own style---still anime, but not Touhou. I guess no one would care if I made cards with templates for personal use, eh? ^_^

With all the choices I think I would have to still choose Luigi. I just don't know where I would start.
May Dwarf and hammer?

Kenpachi Zaraki of Bleach is a Battlerager Fighter. I mean, he takes like, 50 slash wounds in any fight, and he hasn't lost yet (the fight with Ichigo was a draw). The ability to get cut all over and shrug it off as if nothing's wrong... If that's not a Battlerager, then I'm not sure what is.

He'd probably be armed with a Khopesh, flavored to be that ratty-looked katana he fights with.

Why Link and Ganny? Neither of them are anime characters.

Well with the modren definition, Anime is a style of character desighn, as well as plot style (animes gotten to silly for me anymore. I mean the old stuff was good, but now. It's just remakes of Excel Saga and FLCL, but in bad ways). Link and Ganny. Both were desighned very Anime in how they look. Especially in the rule books.

Megaman - Re-flavored Warforged Warlock
Zero - Re-flavored Warforged Fighter with a psionic whatever-blade

Megaman-flavored warforged: Instead of being part wood, they are part homunculus flesh (Looks, feels and behaves as normal flesh, but isn't.)

I like warforged. Played one in 3.5 though I, with DM approval, changed it to look like an iron golem. Other than that, no difference. :D

Solid Snake - Human Rogue/Ranger with Repeating crossbow using bolts treated with drow poison.

Sackboy - Tiny-sized cloth construct Wizard (thinking of the "flying around and magically making things appear" in edit mode)

Well, you don't necessarily have to go with dwarf for Luigi, since Mario's the short one. But since he is a little shorter, I'm thinking half-elf would be suitable, especially since Dilletante would reflect his sort of motley group of skills. If you've kept up with Luigi's persona in a lot of recent ways, he's got a touch of a dark side since he's been "in his brother's shadow" for so long. So I'm think Warlock would be part of it, especially since Eldritch blast works well enough for his fireball. He always has this sort of Kung-fu (Luigi-Fu?) style to him, especially in the Smash Bros. games, so until we get monks, I'm thinking multiclass with fighter?

Lelouch vi Britannia would be an evil resourceful warlord, to represent his high int and cha, multiclassed into Warlock for Beguiling Influence (the closest thing 4E has to Lelouch's Geass).

Kururugi Suzaku is a fighter, plain and simple.

Zaraki Kenpachi would definitely be a chaotic evil battlerager fighter. In the last episode, Noitora was freaking out at how Kenpachi was still standing and laughing like a maniac even after getting cut so many times.

And finally, Haruhi is not a mere demigod. She's more powerful than Lord Ao. Come on, Kyon! Reveal your identity to Haruhi ASAP so you can rule the universe together!

No love for Tales villains? The shame.

Yggdrasil (the Desian leader in Symphonia): Evil Half-Elf Cleric with Overland Flight and Teleport abilities.

Duke (the ultimate villain of Vesperia): Unaligned Human Swordmage (Unaligned since he's open-minded enough to accept he's wrong at the end of the game and helps the party out of alturism before then).

Dhaos (Phantasia): Evil Eldarin Starlock

Flynn (the "rival" character of Vesperia): LG Human Paladin (beacuse you don't need to be Evil to get in the way.)

Ragou and Cumore (Vesperia villains): Chaotic Evil Aristocrats (play the game. If you do not cheer when Yuri kills them, you are offically Lawful Stupid.)

Roy(Fire Emblem: Fuuin no Tsurugi): Human Great Weapon Fighter with a custom made artifact greatsword, possibly full blade, that:

Deals 3d6 damage, tripled against Dragons and Dragon-like creatures.
Deals x3 damage on crits instead of the normal x2(Assuming 4e).
Has a Ranged 2 attack that deals the same.
On critical hits and with its ranged attack it deals Fire Damage.
Grants Resist All 5.
Can deal non-lethal damage freely, this is a non-issue in 4e however.

Ganta(Deadman Wonderland): A human Warlock of some kind. Multiclassed into Wizard for access to Blood Mage.

Crow(Deadman Wonderland): A human Rogue of some kind. Probably Cutthroat.

I'll try some more later.

Rune soldier Louie (sp?)

I think all the characters port over pretty easily!

If anyone has read Terry Pratchett, I would LOVE to build some of his characters out!

I've seen alot of mention of Slayers, but no one has talked about Naga, there is your warlock multi wizard

I know that not all of this is anime related so as long as I'm off topic, may as well be all the way off.

Aqua Teen Hunger force anyone? Frylock is pretty self explanatory, but meatwad, carl and shake are a bit harder to pin down. Ignigknock and Err would be fun as well.

Would also love to translate chrono trigger over!
