Spec. (+2) +1 weapon (+1) did i do this right? did i calculate something wrong? thats 1d12+22 at level 5 with a +8 to hit. Str 22 (+6) Wep. Foc. (+1) +1 weapon (+1) |

| #3ivan_ironskullFeb 08, 2009 23:15:38 | thanks, good to know i'm right, too bad my dm will probably kick me in the shins for asking to play this character |
| #4oxybeFeb 08, 2009 23:36:20 | doubtful he'll kick your shins out, though he'll finally start learning the beauty of power attack... |
| #5sallaFeb 09, 2009 1:48:44 | thanks, good to know i'm right, too bad my dm will probably kick me in the shins for asking to play this character Nah, by 3rd level you'll be sitting on the sidelines bored while the spellcasters drop enemies in threes and fours with save-or-dies. |

Not really. 3rd lv is when the fighter still manages to retain the illusion of being useful. The wizard debuffs the foe with glitterdust and the fighter then moves in for the kill. :D |
| #7narackFeb 09, 2009 6:57:51 | thanks, good to know i'm right, too bad my dm will probably kick me in the shins for asking to play this character My DM also but multiple times, first being "having 22 in a stat by level 5" |
| #8ZherogFeb 09, 2009 7:23:00 | Your math is correct. Be aware that if you continue to always dump your entire base attack bonus into Power Attack, you'll be doing less damage overall because you'll be hitting your foes less frequently. You're probably pretty close to that point, actually. It's not too difficult for a DM to get an armor class up to 19 at CR 5. Also, how are you getting a 22 Str at 5th level? I assume 18 start and +2 gauntlets. Where's the rest? A racial bonus? Something else? |
| #9runestarFeb 09, 2009 17:33:08 | He could be having a race with a str bonus or some template that further boosts str. Goliath is unlikely (his greataxe does only 1d12). Orc maybe. Or perhaps he is a barb1/fighter4 with extra rage and is factoring the benefits of rage into his normal damage output? |
| #10ivan_ironskullFeb 09, 2009 19:30:47 | to clear a few things up, 1. i'm a dice jesus, i rarely roll below 15. 2. it's just an orc fighter, nothing special 3. the group has no arcane caster, infact it has - 4 rogues (yes 4) - 1 cleric - 1 fighter |
