Aug 05, 2009 19:19:01 Someone in my group mentioned this feat, I didn't quite know what it was; so when I got home that night, I looked up the feat. I read about a feat called that from "The Book of Vile Darkness." but apparently that is not what he is talking about. He said it was from Fiendish Codex, but when I looked for that, I got mixed results. Could someone Tell me a bit about the feat, prerequisites and all that? I really don't want to have to go and Buy a book to learn about one feat.

Aug 05, 2009 19:41:58 The Dark Speech feat from Fiendish Codex (3.5) is a direct derivative of the Dark Speech feat from the Book of Vile Darkness (3.0). It's going to be pretty much be the same thing.

Also, what you asked is basically "Hey, I don't want want to buy the book, who wants to break the law, the forum's code of conduct, and several other things to tell me what I want to know?"

Hi every one,

   I have a question about Dark Unity (dark speech). One of my friend says that he can create with is perso a hivemind with a caster lvl 26 !?! Is it possible?

   Exemple. If you are a Lich cleric lvl 12 and casting Insect plague (PHB) after that use your dark unity to create the hivemind. What will be the sorceror casting lvl?

   I have another question, Dark speech is in the BoVD and Fiendish Codex 1. One is in 3.0 and the other in 3.5. Which one is goodif we are playing in 3.5?

Hi Eisenritter,

    Is it possible to create a hivemind with a caster lvl 26 (sorceror)??

    If i'm using the on in the Fiendish Codex 1 is this mean that the hivemind would not be able to caste as a sorceror?

    I think that the version of the DARK SPEECH in BoVD is to powerful. Do you think so?

If you're the DM, I'd like to reacquaint you with Rule Zero: "The DM is always right."

That being said, the feat in FC1 doesn't offer the Dark Unity option, as I recall, but other than that, it's no different from the one in BoVD. Further, the BoVD says, right in the front, that you shouldn't let your players read it.

My suggestion: Drop the hammer. If you want to rule out specific abilities from your game, it's your prerogative as the DM. If the player is reasonable, he'll accept your judgment on it. Rule Zero is your best weapon against people who try to do this just for the sake of being THE STRONGEST.
