We've got a party composed of mostly buffers, me and a dmpc. And well getting rid of the DMPC means also getting rid of my character, an act I had suggested to the DM. (He brought it in, in response of fixing a sudden lack of players, which has since been fixed)

My PC does too much damage, and is too focused on combat, and well, I don't like that. So I've asked the DM if he could allow me to replace my character with a new one, an act that is easy enough and might solve some other issues we are having.

Since the party is a Bard, Druid, Artificer, and Truenamer.. I'm looking to make a character who is focused mostly on debuffing.

Its race is Nezumi, mostly because it screams debuffer more than any other race. And I'm looking at using diseases (making people ill and what not, not litterally diseases that take like 4 days to even do anything) or casting blood magic spells. (take some damage, makabigboom)

So far the fight is between warlock and wizard. But I'm looking for any base classes from any 3.5 book, dragon magazine or even 3.0 books. It might even be homebrew as long as its not ridiculously over/under powered.

Warlock or sorcerer probably be best choice. Even at low levels, sorcerer could spam the hell out of ray of enfeeblement, cause fear, color spray. Etc. He never has to deal damage, but can be a real pain in the ass.

Warlocks are another good option. Eldritch essences such as sickening or frightening blast can be attached to your eldritch blast to deal damage, and knock off some of their combat prowess. You don't have spells per day, or any other limiting factor either... However, the repertoire of a warlock is very limited... so be sure that's what you want. A cleric could also be a good option. There's many spells that go ignored on the cleric's list that could workout well for you as a debuffer.

If your DM is okay with liberally taking feats outside of the fighter bonus feat list, I'd ask to play as a poison based fighter. There are many feats out there that could deal wonders for you. You could even homebrew a feat to unleash something like contagion. (Hopefully more instant. There's no real difference between disease and poison, but you could see disease as a means of "potent poison" that immunity does not grant protection from!) This poison fighter might not sound debuffing. But think about it. What's the difference between being sickened taking -2 on attack rolls, and taking four strength damage to take -2 on melee attack rolls? Nothing. Poison just says there's a possibility of death, is more permanent, and requires money investment rather then selecting spells. I don't know how your druid will feel about you mixing chemical warfare, but maybe he'll shutup if you claim it's wasp venom or something. I figure if I'm going to debuff someone, I want you to feel like I'm doing it. I don't want your attacks to just miss. I want your vision to go blurry, I want you to develop hives, I want you to fear for your life as it becomes difficult to breathe. This fighter doesn't **** around... lol!

Well the sorc requires cha way more than a warlock would, so nezumi wouldn't be that great of a race for this. The character is suppose to come from a swamp where animal-hybrid characters live, particarly evil ones, hence the reason for nezumi being a big stamping point.

However.. With Infernal feats I could take

POISON BLOOD [INFERNAL]
Your blood is poisonous and is unsafe to touch by others.
Prerequisites: Immunity, Infernal Pact, 100XP cost.
Benefit: When cut, the blood in your body becomes
toxic to others. Anyone touching you with a melee touch
attack risks your poison. You may also use their own blood
to coat weapons, or by cutting themselves before combat
starts.
When this feat is gained, choose a poison from the list
below. Once chosen, this poison can never be changed.
In addition, you are immune to all poisons (mundane and
magical).

And gain the use of an "Alien" kind of blood, where if you cut me, you get poisioned.

I would be immune to all diseases and poisons (Though I can still be a carrier of the diseases) and suffer a cough that the DM might pull on me, but not likely. Oh and my allies would have a harder time healing me, as they would be likely to require touching me if I get knocked out.

Now there is another feat called Pox magic, that anytime they fail a fort save from a spell, they become sickend and my dc on spells is increased by 1. (Requires arcane caster level 1 though)

My stat roll is STR 18, DEX 15, CON 17, INT 18, WIS 11, CHA 14  and due to the nature of the grid system we use, I can't move anything.

So a Necromantic focused Nezumi Wizard probally would be the best for me. I'll probally take the infernal feats to get poisoned blood so I can use it via the poison spell feat as it was discribed in there.

A duskblade as it said, wouldn't be too bad either, but not very many fortsave spells.
