| #1sundance8503May 03, 2008 15:10:46 | I need some help! I will set up a base character, a large gold dragon, and I could use any help from anyone here who can give me an idea of how this would work. Dragon Monk level 4 He has a STR of 46 or a +18 His BAB looks like this: +31/+26/+21 While wearing his +5 Amulet of Mighty Fists, his to hit is: +36/+31/+26 Now, let’s also say he takes these feats – Two weapon fighting, Improved two weapon fighting, Multiattack and Improved Multiattack. So this how he would fight round by round: He would first get his Flurry of blows (he gets a -2 for Flurrying) +34/+34/+29/+24 (he would be using other parts of his body and not his ‘fists’ so he can still claw later on) Then he would get his: Bite +34 2 wings +34/+34 1 tail +34 As for the claw attacks he would Two Weapon Fight for: (the DM allows you to use natural weapons for Two Weapon fighting, so the dragon can divide up his claw attacks) First Claw +34/+29/+24 Second Claw +34/+29 For a grand total of – 13 Attacks a round Does this sound right to you guys? I could use all the help tweaking it so this is ‘by the rules’ playable. As far as I can see it looks right…but you know how the rules are ![]() Any advice would be great ![]() D |

I don't think you get that many attacks though, as I remember seeing somewhere that if you use natural attacks you do not get additional attacks from high BAB. I would highly recommend posting in the CharOp boards if you want to tweak this, as the people there know the most about this stuff. As far as the rules with your various attacks go, I really can't say - unarmed strike + multiweapon fighting + natural attacks = tricky business. Might want to go to the DM Rules Counseling forum for that one. |

Your str seems a lot on the high side (base18, +10dragon, +5inherent, +6enhancement, +1 stat boost gives my 40 at best). But otherwise, the math seems correct. Your DM rule about TWFing with claws seems vague, but if the end result is to let you make iterative attacks with them, then everything seems in order. What sort of tweaking do you have in mind? One issue is that you appear to have problems overcoming dr, which means that any sort of dr is going to apply up to 13 times against you. You are also very dependent on full attack routines. Too dependent for my liking though. Not to mention that all those attacks you are rolling are sure to bog down the game. I guess a trip to the CO boards might be in order.:P |
| #4sundance8503May 03, 2008 23:38:53 | Thank goodness! I finally get this monk stuff... As for the STR I have: 18 from stat 10 from Dragon Stat 5 inherent 4 from a gauntlet from the Draconomicon 6 from Belt of Ogre STR 3 from level ups. As far as I add it up...it's 46...I use heroforge for the calcs. The DM is letting me treat the claws as each it's own weapon, so I can TWF with them or my wings as well. As for the OP boards, they do some twisted stuff with characters and I want this as basic as I can for now. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't adding too many attacks D |
