| #11337DnDMTCn3rdAug 04, 2011 19:56:57 | My party has hired an assassins guild to rub out a high profile subject. This was a part of a quest the main story character required. However I, the Crimson Demon know that these guilds will betray you when offered a better contract. So as an "insurance policy" I had my ultra top secret spy agency; S7 Department of Intelligence & Information, gather intel or dox on the entire guild. These dox include but are not limited to: conversations, past operations and contracts, lists of guild members, masters and their identities, and the locations of members and the guild hideouts. They even have lists of their secret techniques, history, how they work, how their learned, and who teaches and know them. This information is compiled into comprehensive and organized reports, ready for rapid printing and distribution to all sectors and sub sectors of the entire land. Do you think that threatening to leak or dox this information to the public will prevent them from betraying us? Is it even a good idea to do this? |

If I was the DM, it would assure their betrayal, and it would be sooner rather than later. If I was playing them rationally, your deaths would all look like unfortunate accidents in the course of your naturally hazardous careers while they pretended to still faithfully execute (hah!) your existing contract. Fortunately, I wouldn't play them rationally, as that would be boring, but they'd make your life interesting. Regardless, that ultra top secret spy agency would have a string of bad luck involving exposed agents, and soon wouldn't be that ultra top secret and in need of serious protection as all its assets became publicly identified. Yes, you would be quite busy. It's one thing to collect information on a shadowy organization. It's another thing entirely extort them with that information. Once such an entity recognizes you as an existential threat, they will handle you in the best way they know how. But, who knows how your DM will play it. I just like to remind players they are playing with fire when they run off to the bad guys for help. |
| #31337DnDMTCn3rdAug 05, 2011 9:12:54 | So it would be to our advantage to keep the dox secret from them and not disclose or even hint that they are being spied on? Also the doxing process involves a sealed digital fortress encrypted order sent electronically from my PCs internal computer. This order is received by a person know only as m00t. He then relays the order to the WAR10CK of AnonOps who then leaks the dox to the public and the outernet at large. The WAR10CK works anonymously from an undisclosed location. My plan B for that situation is to not openly extort them at all. Just to use it as a secret insurance policy under their noses. Also if we were to accidentally on purpose, be killed, then the Crimson Demon's extraterrestrial friends will step in and "take over". This is determined by his life signs monitored by AI supercomputers. If me or any of my friends are tortured or killed, it is an act of WAR and all allied intergalactic forces WILL respond with all NECESSARY FORCE! In lay man's terms WORLDS WAR I! |
| #4DontEatRawHagisAug 05, 2011 10:32:43 | Rule #1: Don't Poke the Bear. Rule #2: Follow rule #1! If the assassins don't notice that you guys have information on them then you are good. Keep it in your back pocket until they turn on you, where upon you pull it out and go "haha". Also I would rather put the release mechanism on an automatic system. People can be killed and bribed and you don't want to give too much information to outside parties. Best course of action have a password you have to enter into your computer every day your alive. If you don't enter a password it assumes your dead and activates the trigger, if you enter the password wrong more than two times it releases the information. This way hackers would not be able to brute force your password and you dont have to worry about m00t or WAR10CK turning traitor. |
| #51337DnDMTCn3rdAug 06, 2011 8:49:27 | I see, well that's good advice. Little do people know though, the Crimson Demon and the WAR10CK are one in the same. I had to reinvent myself and so I use the alias WAR10CK to keep myself hidden from the public when I operate in the outernet. The doxing program is codenamed; Operation: Wikileaks. The folks at AnonOps and /i/nvasion boards all operate off site and no one knows who is an Anon on this planet. I repeat NO ONE! It might be possible to infiltrate the Anonymous collective and do what you indicated in your post like bribe and kill Anons. Note though, this is only possible if these medieval guilds have a computer that can connect to the outernet, something they have never even heard of probably. The only way to talk to them is though their secret websites requiring anyone posting on the site to remain anonymous. Because of this it is possible to attempt to get an insider man into the collective, I admit it. But the safe guards I installed to will prevent any possible infiltration attempts 99.9999999% of the time. Plus Anons know how to tell when someone is just an infiltrator too and thus will drop the ban hammer on them the moment they are detected. m00t however, yes I may need to install electronic countermeasures to prevent internal security breaches. But I would not worry too much about it considering the fact that m00t is operating on planet Azeroth inside the GM islands on the covert Sector Zero. Light years away from the current forgottton realms planet we are on. Most Anons are scattered throughout the galaxies. Your password idea sounds good so will take that under advisement. I am thinking maybe that or an override code that will let me initiate Operation: Wikileaks myself. But the DEFCON 1 invasion response to my termination is controlled by the computers on the pirate home world and the High Command which is again Light years away from our current location. Right now, based on current intelligence gathered on the assassins guild we hired, we are holding at DEFCON 2 for the time being. I am also required to report back to HI-COM periodically on our operations here too. No one from Anonymous or any unauthorized third party has access to these government computers, not even m00t. |
| #6Cohen95Aug 07, 2011 2:54:42 | please stop bragging about your onethreethreeseven character. There's threads for that, making new ones just to talk about your character under the auspice of asking questions that have pretty obvious answers is really just annoying. Especially when you're not even playing Dungeons & Dragons. |

There's threads for that, making new ones just to talk about your character under the auspice of asking questions that have pretty obvious answers is really just annoying. *facepalm* dude epic fail on that right there. You could not be anymore wrong. Sure I know where to brag about my PC but this is far far away from bragging. I know what bragging is. It's this: OMFG MY PC IZ TEH BESTZORZ B CUZ HE IS SO 1337NESS1!!!1!1!!1! I am simply providing the necessary information to explain my situation. However to some Internet users this can be misinterpreted as egotistical bragging though especially with the way I type. Next, please don't jump to conclusions that I am not a player. Finally, onethreethreeseven, is that how you say 1337? I always thought it was leet. And if I offended you, I am sorry about that. |
| #8crowscapeAug 10, 2011 1:33:50 | Finally, onethreethreeseven, is that how you say 1337? I always thought it was leet. He wrote it out because he refuses to encourage the abomination known as leet speak by pretending numbers are valid substitutions for letters, or because he is older than 12. Probably both. I must admit to being baffled by your usage of it, as you seem to be capable of stringing coherent sentences together with proper spelling, grammar, and punctuation when you wish to. It's like looking at an otherwise continent person who insists on wearing a diaper. To each his own, I guess. But people would take you more seriously if you dropped the habit. |

You're a special kind of special, aren't you? Irrespective what you think you know about what you're saying, the facts are you are not playing Dungeons & Dragons. As such, you're really just wasting the time of other people by continuing to post here. You're just bragging about how awesome your "crimson demon" is. |
| #101337DnDMTCn3rdAug 10, 2011 11:13:54 | 1. I understand what you trying to say and that is your opinion, I have nothing against you for it. 2. I understand that 1337 speak is old and outdated but do not appreciate the prejudice that you are clearly displaying right now. 3. I respect the opinions of people on the net for the freedom of speech is law on the internet so I will not censor you. 4. I am starting to see a flame war brewing here and refuse to fight in it. So if you are done pointlessly questioning my maturity I have no further comments. If not then I am forced to defend myself. 5. I do not wish to be hated here nor do I enjoy causing drama. 6. MODs if this thread gets further off topic, LOCK IT please. |
| #11crowscapeAug 10, 2011 13:49:31 | Irrespective what you think you know about what you're saying, the facts are you are not playing Dungeons & Dragons. I don't think that you can accurately say that. I see nothing that tells me that 1337DnDMTCn3rd's campaign is less D&D than anyone else's homebrew campaign setting. It's certainly heavily re-fluffed to the point where it seems to encroach on a D&D port of Metroid, but that doesn't disqualify it from being D&D. As long as the mechanical rules are the same and he's referring to D&D's rulebooks while running the game, it's D&D. Besides, his questions could easily be asked of a D&D campaign. Now, this one in particular is kinda of useless from a player perspective, as no matter what answers he receives on the forum, it won't tell him what his DM is going to do in response and whether or not it's a good course of action. But, if asked from a GM's perspective, it wouldn't matter what RPG the GM was running, as the general advice could be applied to any system. |
