Dual Wield Bladesinger

Aug 07, 2013 15:47:40 I play an Eladrin Bladesinger. Is there any way that I could allow him to dual wield 2 longswords while allowing him to still use his powers? Or would I have to make a house rule to allow this?

However, why not play a character that can normally dual wield, and usefully so?

(Bladesingers are a very poorly-designed class)

Quite honestly, talk to your DM about it - it's nowhere even close to overpowering the bladesinger to remove all the "empty hand" restrictions from their class features.

In fact, you could just ask the DM to switch all it's class features to require you to wield a weapon iin each hand, and you'd still retain all the fluff of the class while picking up a couple of minor benefits, mostly in the form of the two-weapon feats.
If you can get your DM to houserule that your bladespells have the implement keyword, that would also help you quite a bit.

if your stick with RAW however you might be able to use wrist razors (simple +3 1d4 weapon that goes in the wrist slot) becuse you weild them in your offhand but you dont hold them with your offhand. also keep in mind that you can swich what hand a weapon is held in as a free action, and you can hold more then you can weild. (so you can hold two longswords in one hand, even if you would not count as wielding either)

that said talking to your DM seams the best thing to do

No, and what's the point? There are only a couple of (sub)classes that can even do anything with 2 weapons, mechanically speaking, and the Bladesinger is definitely not one of them.

If you "like the look" or whatever, refluff your off-hand wand to a longsword.
