Now this is something I would like to clear up. In that if lets say that the character were to go from lawful evil to let’s say to lawful neutral for example would he lose the feats and spells that he had as an assassin and evil. Now I know the DMG does not say anything about ex assassins or should he keep the abilities?

There's no clear, concise answer unfortunately. Some people will say that everything except BAB, skill points, and base saves is lost; others will say you just can't advance further.

The FAQ does address your specific question, and it's the "official" answer on the point.

What happens when an assassin becomes non-evil?

A character who no longer meets the requirements of his prestige class not only can’t advance any further in that class, but he also “loses the benefit of any class features or other special abilities granted by the class.” (Complete Warrior 16) You retain Hit Dice (and the hit points derived from), base attack bonus, and base save bonuses granted by the prestige class.

The rules don’t specifically list skill points (and class skills) as falling into either category; the Sage recommends that the character retain these functions even if he no longer meets the class requirements.

So your repentant assassin would lose his sneak attack, death attack, poison use, save bonus against poison, uncanny dodge, improved uncanny dodge, and hide in plain sight class features, as well as his assassin spellcasting and any weapon and armor proficiencies gained from the class. He’d keep the skill ranks he bought with his assassin levels, as well as the hit points, base attack, and base save bonuses gained from those class levels. He also couldn’t gain any more assassin levels until his alignment returned to evil (at which point he’d also regain the various features he lost when his alignment changed to non-evil).

Now, this presents some interesting problems. For example, one of the requirements for Dragon Disciple is that the creature not be of the Dragon type. The 10th level ability of the class, however, changes your type to dragon - thereby causing you to no longer meet the pre-reqs of the class, and losing all the abilities.

Dragon Disciple isn't the only prestige class with this sort of problem, either. For that reason, this is one of the few FAQ rulings I completely ignore.

Actually, the Dragon Deciple isn't just a problem: it is time paradox. Every second, he occilates between loses powers and regaining them.
Why? Because becoming a Dragon is a class feature. he loses when he gains it, so he regains whe loses it.
If we hooked up a battery to him while he occilates: we can generate power enough for a house if assuming his changing generates a magnetic field.

But yeah, the DD will be fine... if destroy not the time space continum.
