#1 natoba Jan 09, 2010 19:13:27	So I'm having trouble finding a group/ game... Anyone got any tips, websites, suggestions that I could use to find players, or a DM? Also as a edit note. There are no stores in my Town that sell Dnd Books or Items (Kinda live in a small town )
#2 regalkain Jan 11, 2010 2:26:11	I have this same problem actually. I've ran (As a character and some as a DM) 3.5, so I might be able to do something with you. But the town I live in is really small, and 90% of the community doesn't game, the other 10% are tech-heads. (No offense to tech-heads of course.)  But if you're interested I'd be happy to try and work something out, maybe we can even get a small group going.

If so, just ask them, convince them and play with them once. After that, you will see.

I guess it would make them feel to much like a kid or a geek
#6 marc_byrne Jan 11, 2010 20:04:56	You could also try pbp (Play By Post).  Its slow, and not always easy to find a good game, but if you have nothing going for you in reality, its worth a try.   www.dndonlinegames.com  is a site where they do this.  There are others you can google.

Hanging around looking like a weirdo WILL make you seem like one. Now if you make up some flyers, and approach the principle of vice principle and say you'd like to see if there was any chance of an after school hours gaming club, you suddenly look more like a volunteer wanting to give bored kids something constructive to do. You get an announcement made over the school PA and you place some flyers where the kids will see them, and then you pick a location and see if anyone shows up. Just asking kids 'hey wanna play some D&D?' though is like doing a survey, 'hey kid, are you still a virgin? You simply won't get positive responses to questions asked the wrong way.

You're the perfect age to infiltrate college gaming groups. Colleges also generally have a higher demographic of gamers than the population at large. Is there a college near you (either of you)?
#11 weenog42 Jan 12, 2010 17:23:46	As has been suggested, colleges and local game stores are a good place to start.  There are tons of organized events that take place every year - RPGA events, Conventions, etc.  The main wizards.com/dnd site has some kind of find a group tool, although I havent used it.  If I recall it's similar to meetup.com; it may even just link there.

#13 natoba Jan 13, 2010 10:30:23	Yea I both go to College, and have gotten all my friends to play. My biggest problem is my friends are unreliable and never really can set a schedule for gaming down. Or that I am Dm all the time and I really just wanta have a good time and play a game, but thanks for all the advice everone!
