Hi. So, I haven't played DnD before, but I will be soon, and I'm working on my character now. I have a few questions regarding building a character without crippling me. The edition is 4e.

First, regarding Hybrid Classes:
Would the following Hybrid Classes be effective in combat (And Outside of it)?
[i]: Monk|Warlock with Reapers Touch
[II]; Paladin|Warlock
[III]; Monk|Avenger
[IV]; Avenger|Barbarian
[V]; Barbarian|Monk
[VI]; Ardent|Sorceror

Secondly, are Hybrid Classes even worth it in general? Or would I be better off sticking with 'pure' classes?

Finally, if it's not too much trouble, can you give me a bit of an idea as for how some of these hybrids would play?

As a new player, i would recommend you stay away from hybrids until you are more familiar with the rules.
And at that stage you'll realize that hybriding 2 strikers is almost always a bad idea.

But besides that, the only thing on that list that i'd consider would be the paladin|lock, and even then probably not until paragon tier...
Go high cha, Fey pact, take eldritch strike, and probably take hybrid talent Pally armor. Drop your divine challenge on someone and then eyebite him for hilarity.
But really, you could do the same thing by being a straight pally and MC 'lock...

Really though, you should ask the guys at CharOp (and be sure to tell them which level you are starting at)...

First, Hybrids are always less effective out of combat. Hybrids always get three trained skills, regardless of the number of skills either of their classes receive (exceptions being Bard, Ranger and Rogue, who get extra skills as class features). In combat is a different story.

Monk / Warlock might work, but remember you only get to Flurry off of Monk Powers, and you only get to Curse off of Warclock powers.

Paladin / Warlock works better, since you can build both off of Charisma. I have seen a very effective Paladin / Warlock build.

Monk / Avenger does not complement each other very well due to having incompatible ability scores. The same can be said about Avenger / Barbarian.

Barbarian / Monk might work, but it works best as Barbarian with Monk multiclass feats.

Ardent / Sorcerer looks like it might work well in concept, but the oddities of Hybriding Psionic classes makes me think it isn't worth the effort.

For your first character, unless no "pure" class will work for your concept, it would probably be best to use the pure class.

What concept are you trying to achieve? We can probably help you make it real.

Thanks for the help. At this point, it's down to between just going with a pure class (Would probably be Monk, or maybe Warlock or Avenger) and either the Monk|Warlock or Warlock|Paladin. Based on the comments I've gotten, it sounds like I'm going to want to just go with the pure class if for no other reason than simplicity's sake.

Its true, hybrids are harder to make and balance especially if you haven't gotten the 4e mechanics down yet, but they can be well worth the effort if done properly. I like them for bigger parties where they can straddle the grey area between roles, and can bring a lot of versatility. And when they synergize well, they can be pretty spectacular and fun to play. They're best when you don't try to get too elaborate with them, try to focus on doing one  or two things and doing it well.

I would agree with everyone else that the striker|striker hybrids usually stink, but striker|leader or defenders are pretty hardy. Also make sure you get proper AC for your level & role through feats.

You should go check out CharOp though, and in the the complete links thread you will find Mommy_was_an_orcs hybrid guides. Check out how some other people are making it werk and try to apply to your PC. Though I will say they can take more time and intensity to build for a first time PC.

Don't be a hybrid unless you have a clear idea which mechanics you want to combine and you know that it will work. This requires a lot of familiarity with the game than you likely have. Unless you have a more experienced player helping you and an extremely concept (such as Ranger|Hybrid who takes off-turn/minor action attacks to have something to do other than twin striking) you should stay with a pure class.

Speaking from a CharOP perspective, only the Paladin|Warlock of those is a viable character.

For more info, go to check out MWAO guide to hybrids.
