A friend of mine recently wanted to try out DnD. I told him I was a bit too busy right now to run a game and that I couldn't find any players. Which is true because I'm currently running a different system game. To make a long story short we found ourselves at our FLGS(Friendly Local Game Store) and he was talking about wondering how it would be to play DnD. Then the cashier said that the Wednesday Living Forgotten Realms game is looking to start back at lvl1. And asked if we would be interested. We put our names down and we are expecting an email if she finds enough players. So here is the problem. I haven't played DnD 4e in about a year and a half. Also I played Dark Sun, which I think is a lot different than Forgotten Realms.
I've never played Living Forgotten Realms, in fact it is probably one of my least favorite settings. Does this character work? ie

Whether you will be more optimised than some newbie is hard to say. Actually, almost nothing at level one screams optimised to me, more than any class plus human race. 3) shouldn't. DMs can have their opinions. |

Thri-Kreen aren't published in Forgotten Realms, but there are weirder races out there (Shardmind springs to mind) and they aren't illegal according to the official campaign documentation (found on livingforgottenrealms.com). In fact, there's an adventure where the players encounter a Thri-Kreen clutch in the Calimshan desert who are trying to kill a metallic dragon. It's called CALI3-3 I believe, and can be found on the same website I mentioned. Might be fun for you to play that adventure someday (it's even part of a trilogy). |
