#1 jester619 Jan 03, 2009 3:22:52	ok my DM allowed goliath PC characters so natually i made a goliath fighter who is now a 7th level fighter hes got a str of 25 with the belt of giant str its now a 29 with a +9 modifier along the way i took the improved bull-rush feat...so when i go to make a bull rush attempt i am supposed to be treated as a large creature gaining the +4 from the size category due to the fact that it is advantageous to me as per the Powerful Build Racial feat of goliaths adding in the +4 from the improved bull rush feat to make a +8 and also adding in my str bonus of +9 totaling out to a sizable +17 to my bull-rush attempts....now the problem is...my DM is saying i CAN'T do it like that because im only a medium creature and i DON'T get the benefits of the Powerful Build feat because i can already wield large weapons without penalty...please help clarification is needed...
#2 eshenaleros Jan 03, 2009 3:46:40	yes, you do get the benefits of large size bullrushing with powerful build. I know because I like half-giants, who have the same ability
#3 Zherog Jan 03, 2009 11:19:43	I agree with Esh. Powerful Build (Ex): The physical stature of half-giants lets them function in many ways as if they were one size category larger. Whenever a half-giant is subject to a size modifier or special size modifier for an opposed check (such as during grapple checks, bull rush attempts, and trip attempts), the half-giant is treated as one size larger if doing so is advantageous to him. A half-giant is also considered to be one size larger when determining whether a creature’s special attacks based on size (such as improved grab or swallow whole) can affect him. A half-giant can use weapons designed for a creature one size larger without penalty. However, his space and reach remain those of a creature of his actual size. The benefits of this racial trait stack with the effects of powers, abilities, and spells that change the subject’s size category. That's from the half-giant, but the text is the same for the goliath. The emphasis is mine.
