Looks to be medium though. And considering large miniatures normally have a lot more base left than this, I agree with it.

It's on a Medium-sized base, but it's fairly large for a Medium creature - it's basically the size of a Goliath or Minotaur.

Dark Sun has done this.

They used Goliaths as the base for them in 4e. They are medium

Some people didn't like that because back in 2e they were large so they created homebrewed versions. Hope that helps.
