| #1scarleticeAug 11, 2009 22:57:11 | What happens if I assign my roll of 3 to my half orc's Int? Does he now have 1 Int? Doesnt that mean he's like dumber than a dog? Edit: using 3.5 |
| #2sallaAug 11, 2009 23:03:17 | Assuming you're talking 3rd Edition here ... INT can't go below 3. I can't say you're really 'bypassing' the half-orcs INT problem since you're still dumb as a bowl of mice, but you wouldn't go below 3. |
| #3scarleticeAug 11, 2009 23:09:08 | Ok yeah it's 3.5 and thanks. does it work like that with all the stats then? Also, your bowl of mice bit make me laugh. I'm stealing it now. |
| #4sallaAug 11, 2009 23:17:01 | Ok yeah it's 3.5 and thanks. does it work like that with all the stats then? The rest of them can go below 3; INT has that limiter because, otherwise, as you say, you'd be of animal intelligence and not capable of doing essential tasks like communicating. |
| #5entropy_judgeAug 12, 2009 1:38:45 | Of course, you don't really want any of your stats below 3, as then any sort of ability damage becomes nearly lethal ... STR and DEX lead to paralyzation and death, WIS and CHA tend to send you comatose ... CON leads straight to death. |
| #6koukAug 13, 2009 7:38:43 | I think a bowl of mice may have a better chance of problem solving though... |
| #7sockmonkey66Aug 13, 2009 14:08:06 | They do pretty well in those mazes.:D |
| #8FlashbackJonAug 14, 2009 11:15:14 | They do pretty well in those mazes.:D Bowls of mice: nature's dungeoncrawlers. Literally. |
| #9sockmonkey66Aug 14, 2009 12:00:14 | True, it should be were-rats and not minotaurs that get bonuses for navigating mazes. That whole labryinth thing was a one time incedent and the stupid bull never found his way out anyhow. |
| #10sallaAug 14, 2009 12:50:35 | True, it should be were-rats and not minotaurs that get bonuses for navigating mazes. That whole labryinth thing was a one time incedent and the stupid bull never found his way out anyhow. He wasn't trying to, really. I mean, why leave when you have all your meals delivered fresh? ![]() |
| #11marble66Aug 14, 2009 18:55:09 | Bowls of mice: nature's dungeoncrawlers. I've got an idea for a new cereal coming on. |
| #12excession_dupAug 14, 2009 19:30:12 | They do pretty well in those mazes.:D Not that well, the mice rarely come up with the idea of going straight through the walls. For Half-orcs it's the default behaviour. ![]() |
| #13MechaliburAug 14, 2009 21:05:35 | He wasn't trying to, really. I mean, why leave when you have all your meals delivered fresh? The reception down there is terrible, so I wouldn't be surprised if he wanted out. |
| #14koukAug 15, 2009 5:08:15 | The reception down there is terrible, so I wouldn't be surprised if he wanted out. I hear they didn't get cable down there (obviously, satellite wasn't invented yet). |
| #15lynadianyaAug 17, 2009 3:51:32 | you're still dumb as a bowl of mice. I actually busted up laughing at this...at work of course...so everyone looked at me funny...well, more funny than usual. I don't know why, it just struck me as hilarious. Never heard that particular phrasing of the dumber than phrase. :D |
