Help making a Cleric

Apr 06, 2013 22:00:08 Hello I am new to this webpage and also fairly new to the dnd world. I have played some sessions but I have not yet played a full session and my DM on the other hand has plenty of experience and has asked me to do some correct research in order to not make mistakes that caused us to have to stop the previous sessions we were playing. So here I am hoping for your guys help.

I have decided to play a archery cleric, it seems very interesting. My previous work was with a monk but I really don't like the class as much as I thought I would and I have always loved the idea of a bow type character with spells so this was my best choice or so I think. I have done my research at cleric handbooks and have read some forums that have helped me out a lot. I have decided my race is going to be elf. What I am having trouble is figuring out the correct stats for a 20 point by or 25 point buy character. This what I have so far

DEX 17
Wis-15
STR-14
Char:10
Con:10

I used this link for that paizo.com/threads/rzs2o4h5?Archer-cleric however since im new I really only know that dex wis and str are the prominent stats for archery cleric. My problem with that link is that, they are focusing on humans which I don't want to play to generic. My feats are going to be point blank shot and point blank shot and precise shot(btw starting at lvl 1). My real problem is I don't know what skills to max out rank wise and number wise and what skill i actually get. I read the cleric and it seems that there isn't really much but concentration for the archer. I am trying to get spot and listen and all those skills, but i dont know how to or even if I already have them. So i need some explaining in that ideal(noob question sorry. The other question is as far as deitys and domains go, the link I put on top also is all focusing on human, and so I dont know really which domain and which god is best to go to. I guess these are my questions for now. I know these are noob questions and I apologize but I really do want to get this right.

Ps: I have also read this docs.google.com/document/d/1h6-_4HvPvV-T... but not really much help on which domain to take or god or godess. The skills, domain and godess are the things im really have trouble constructing. One last question would be as far as filling out the character sheet do I use the cleric chart for fort save and all that stuff or is there a specific archer cleric table that I am just not finding.

Pss: Sorry again for the lame questions but I really do need help

That said, since it looks like you're asking about a 3E/Pathfinder cleric build, you'll probably do better posting in the Previous Editions forums down below ( community.wizards.com/go/forum/view/7588... ), since you'll find more 3E-knowledgeable folks there.

You should also check out the Paizo Pathfinder forums, since that's the game you're playing.

1. What version of the game are you playing? There are differences between Pathfinder and 3.X D&D.
2. What books are allowed by your DM?
