Help Me Select Last Campaign Spot

Feb 23, 2009 22:44:06 There are four of us and I am joining a group that has a Fighter/Defender, Ranger/Bow, Cleric/BattleCleric, and the fourth spot is me... What do you think the group could best benefit from?

Feb 24, 2009 0:16:47 I would consider a defender class or a striker.

If defender, I'd go paladin due to the extra healing - which is always a good thing.

If striker, I'd go warlock (if we're only talking about ph1 classes) - probably Fey due to the controller like abilities.

Then again, you could go controller, but that sometimes is more beneficial depending on your DM.

Feb 24, 2009 11:57:10 Why not a controller? Unless the DM is going to be nice and not have any minions, using the Ranger to pop minions is a waste of damage.

If you can use the preview classes from PHB2, I'd suggest a Druid. AoE damage, plus shift/terrain and they can pretend to be Defender or Striker depending on which build you use.

Thus you should make whatever type of character you want (subject to DM approval of course).

Of course, most will look at what's already there & suggest some sort of wizard/arcane.
But you know what? Obviously the others weren't too concerned with this being a need. If they had been, someone would already be playing it. So follow their example & play what you like.....
