Situation:
Show

a- Group of 4 players
b- I'm the DM (and i wanna be a player)
c- all other players do not want to DM except one
d- the "New DM" ignore all rules

Examples of how d works:
-You only hit in a roll that he thinks is good. No matter the modifiers you have.
(A 10th level fighter hitting a troll would only succeed in a 15 or higher, even if he would miss only in a 1, he creates all the CAs in the moment)

-Touch attacks are treated as normal ones
- NPCs never fails savin throws, unless he wants them to do (very rare)

In an environment like that, it sounds like a Two Weapon Fighting Rogue or a Rapid Shot Ranger would do well. If your attack bonus doesn't matter, the encentive becomes to have as many attacks as possible. Then just pile on bonus damage for when you do hit. Alternatively, grab a two-handed weapon and Power Attack as hard as you can.

If you want to try a Bard, you might try optimizing for Inspire Courage and then using the Dragonfire Inspiration feat from Dragon Magic. I'm not sure what spells you'll want, aside from healing. Illusions won't work, save-or-suck spells won't work, buffs will only be marginally effective, rays won't hit, and Bard spells aren't that great for direct damage.

Out of curiosity, do you expect to need to worry about AC at all, or do monsters also hit only whenever he feels like it?

Thanks for the reply Crimson, to you have a idea ofhow his monsters are, back in the other game he Dmed:

- the party was level 6
- the enemy had one thousand hp (i'm not kidding)
- to hit you had to roll over 15 with touch
- roll over 17 with normal attacks
- the enemy was a gnome "x-men'ic wolverine"
- said gnome hit twice for every miss (he hide the roll, so we don't know if it was just he wanting it to hit or he actually rolled such attacks)
- the damage were 20 per hit
- the little guy exploded when killed dealing a non-save 40 damage to everyone still alive.

So, i could not presume if i need to worry or not about AC
1- if a real low, he wuld say every attack auto-hit me
2- if real high and completely within the rules, he would say the enemy hit (whenever he wants)

No D&D is better than bad D&D. If it's not fun, don't waste your time on it.

Do the other players like this guy's style?

1) Show him this thread

2) Show him examples of what you think is fair and intriguing DMing. The one by Oakspar77777 I recommend.

3) Dig up some threads on horror DM's...Wasn't there one way back with an invincible mage tower?

Talk to him if he wants to DM, but I suggest that you and your friends agree NOT to play with him as a DM if he's going to...Well, suck at it. But show him that no one wants to play like that. I hope he isn't the sort that thinks its a game between him and the players, but he makes the rules. Sure, the DM can bend rules, but the point is to be a storyteller, not an angry vengeful all-powerful pissy god.

1 word: DMPC. Stay the DM just use a DMPC. Just don't go to crazy and be better than the players (most players should be fine with you being equal).

If you absolutly have to play in this game, I mean life or death situation.

I would play a summon monster focused wizard.

Round 1 of every combat would be summon monster X, followed by invisablity, or greater invis and running away while the monster fights. You can still maybe be effective, as the monster/s and you might not be auto killed by the enemies if you are far enough away, or hidden.

I did something similar in a similar sounding game, and lived a fairly decent length of time. (until the enemies had auto see through invis powers, and homing ranged attacks that go through displacement, and dispell all summons automatically. But thats when you quit and explain that you are no longer friends if he is going to be this much of a ****)

I don't think having as many attacks as possible would work, cause if you have to many, he may just figure you outta start missing. I like the power attack one; doesn't matter if you normally hit for nothing, if he decides what hits. As long as he doesn't control damage, I'd make something that does a stupid amount of damage all the time. Maybe something with a x4 crit?

Really though, that's a campaign I'd just drop out of.

Truth. And I think the DMPC is a bad Idea. But that's just me. Don't make your players suffer just because you have to.

Ban his *** and get back to DMing, Its better to be unhappy as a DM than unhappy at playing dominated and desecrated.

Well, obviously, don't play, or talk some sense into him.

For the fun part, though, trying to survive in such a scenario...I would agree that the most optimal thing to do is try to get as many attacks off per round as possible. Heck, Power Attack all the way, too. Summoning is a good thing, as well. For a nice trick, see if you can't critical threat every time you hit. Spec your character for critting, so you threaten on a 15. Then, every hit is a critical threat. (There's some kind of construct, I think it's called a Nimblewright, that threatens a crit on something like 12-20.)

I'm racking my brains for anything else, but I don't have anything so far. Maybe some luck feats or something?

I can say I sympathize with you. It's a demoralizing experience to specialize a character for a specific task, and then the DM simply decides success and failure based on an arbitrary check of how well you rolled, rather than a set DC.

Mentor someone. If this new DM is beyond hope, I'm sure you can find an OCD or grandiose player to tutor in the ways of the DM

Yes! The tutor thing is great...

My shot however was a failure...

The best player i have: the most cooperative and focused one, said he can't DM...he simply can't...

His argument is that he cannot keep track of history, monster and Pc actions all together

A real shame because he is quite good.

I've talked to the crazy DM...he said he wont f*ck we anymore...
I've asked f a touch attack wold *really* be treated as such, and he said that from now on, everything will be treated as in the rules :D

That's pretty cool. I suggest for the pupil you loan him some pre-published adventures and see if he fares better.
