| #1thebloodycatharJul 19, 2009 16:44:18 | ok the last time we played a few little problems popped up. 1. I'm playing a wizard and was in a magic tournament, I had to face a NPC sorcerer who had chaotic defense. the dm rolled a 4 and got all the stuff. the problem was when you attack you take 2d6 and he believes that they should get there npc bonus and secondary stat bonus with each attack. Now the way I read it is you get 2d6 damage and maybe npc bonus to 1 attack around. his way really messed me up because i have that wizard daily (in one of dragon mags) that allows you to make a magic missile attack as a minor action so i used a standard to attack and a minor than used an action point and took 62 damage he rolled kind of high and added 11 to each attack. 2. this was a doubles tournament and my partner a warlock ended up falling from the 2d6+11 and the dm ruled the attack is what triggers the damage so the npc took no damage. is this right or I’m I right that it is only 2d6 for one attack per person per turn? |

The way I'm reading this power is that the CHA bonus is only added to the temp hp not the 2d6 damage roll. If it did apply the line would read "Until the end of the encounter, each creature that attacks you takes 2d6 + Charisma modifier damage". Also the each creature in the text says to me that it should only apply to one attack from each attacker. So you should have only taken a staight 2d6 damage, but so would your Warlock friend when he attacked the sorcerer on his turn, and this effect lasts until the end of the encounter. Even when used this way it is still a very good power for that level. |

It tends to revolve heavily around who got the initiative or who managed to first land a daily on the other side. Especially true when your talking about 2v2 or 1v1. |

I disagree. in a normal game, "effect 2d6+Mod; condition on getting attacked" isn't overpowered for a daily; as the enemy can easly circumvent the condition (attack an other character). If you compare it with other damaging dailies, that it isn't overpowered.
