I would like to make a character to use as a striker/defender but also that has a good thievery skill. My first choice was a rogue, but i really like a swordmage.

I was thinking the following. If i would make an eldarin swordmage with aegis of assault, i would have the int and dex bonus and have high int, str and dex stats (16, 14, 14 or something) and the rest low. I would have a will bonus as eldarin to compensate wis and cha low stats. The con is comensated by a higher strenght and a good armor and bonus items that boost con. The thievery whould benefit from a training (choice skill as eldarin) +5, thievery tools +2 and dex +3.. so this would be 10, which is pretty good i think.

Do you have any tips on this build and is this a good choice?

Also do you have a good suggestion for a rogue? (I would like to give it a longsword.. is the eldarin feat in the marial handbook any good?) Is a rogue any good for fighting solo monsters, or do you always have to have combat advantage to take adventage of the powers? I was hoping to go commando with the rogue :D

I´m still a noob.. and also have a question about implents. The swordmage can use swords as an implement. But when you use a power that uses a weapon, than i still have the benefits from the weapon and magic properties? Or is this when something counts as a implement? Where can i find these rules in the pg, dm or other books?

Thanks for the answers!!
