I can't think of what I can do to try and fix this except not talk at all. Even if someone is trying give my a very lucrative quest I always seem to ask for more. Does anyone else have a problem like this? or someone how does this too? And finally does anyone have any ideas on how I can get myself out of this habit? |

Seriously, I think playing a character similiar to yourself will help you roleplay if you acknowledge that you are doing it on purpose. Who knows, maybe your DM will take pity on you? |

Can you provide a more concrete example? |

Make a wizard obsessed with intellectual pursuits who is disinterested in money. He is absent minded but brilliant. He casually says to the fighter "you hold onto my share. It's too heavy." Then he expects the party to cover his ritual costs and it never occurrs to him to pick up the check. Make a Paladin/Cleric/Ranger that doesn't want, or even rejects, material goods unless it fullfills his life mission. Become personal friends with the people you game with and then don't do things that annoys/detract from the fun of your friends. Learn self control. Make a wise character that appreciates the value of cultivating relationships with NPCs rather than nickle and diming them. Long-term rather than short-term gain. |

It could be a wizard with a multiclass feat, abd a Paragon path multiclass but that is imposible. However, I do like your Idea, an Absent minded professer with not mattireal cost unless it helps him. I like that Idea, and of corse my guy is exact opossite, he is good at everything, but has low Int. Always askes for Money to do simthing. For you, I would make a character, get used to him, act like he is one of you best freinds, It souldn't take to long. After a while, all you have to do is "What would He do?" Like you would ask what you what your role modle would do. I takes a wjile, but it is not so hard to do after a while. I had the same problem when I first started, but I learned how to become my guy, all you hae to do is know what he would do if somthing happenes. |
