Well ... in like 3.x reincarnate spells I would say so ... That being said I doubt you'd get anything like 'Weap. Prof. Elf' .... things that are usually linked to an Elven education as opposed to just an innate physiological attachment to a whole bunch of martial weapons. I'd say use common sense, you're a human in an elf's body, not an elf in an elf's body. So physical qualities you get, heightened dex and lower con, but things that require knowledge, training, and education (aforementioned weapons, Elf's meditation, knowing elven tongue ) you do not. Nor would you beable to enter an elf's meditational trance that allows the character to go with less hours of rest. Apart from that, you'd be an elf. Welcome to the master race :P |

This stunt cost 1200 gold (a L.15 NPC *80gp for L.8 spell) and it basically gave me a character with a humans perks and some of the Elfs (stat changes, L.L. vision, +2 Listen, Search, and Spot). I think that all my elves will originaly have been humans from now on... |

Lol, yeah, but whole point in playing an elf (aside from Elven weap. profs) is knowing you're better, more sophisticated ... and again just better than your monkey-offspring colleagues :P Crude, hairy beasts :x |

The short answer is "yes," you retain your feats and skill points. Polymorph Any Object functions exactly like the Polymorph spell except where it otherwise specifies, and Polymorph likewise with Alterself. None of the spells in that line indicate that you would lose your extraordinary qualities (read: extra feat and skills points), so you don't. Though at the same time, you gain very few of the elf's abilities. Skills bonuses are a go, but not their low-light vision, immunity to sleep, bonus vs enchantments, trance, or ability to auto-search for secret doors. You should get their martial weapon proficiencies though, if I'm not mistaken. One more thing. You're polymorphed into into a standard elf, so your base physical scores become those of a regular elf (str 10, dex 12, con 8) as per the Polymorph spell, and depending on how you interpret the line "polymorph any object does grant the creature the Intelligence score of its new form," you may be forced with regular elf intelligence (int 10) as per PaO. I'm inclined to say the the wording implies the change is optional, but YMMV. Either way, just make sure you're on the same page as your DM, as the potential int change can end up being a very bad thing for your wizard. One more thing. Note that the duration of the effect is Permanent, not Instantaneous. So you are still a human, albeit one that's polymorphed into an elf. Someone with Detect Magic or similiar spells will be able to detect the transmutation, and a successful Dispel Magic can end the effect. One more thing. AFAIK, how PaO interacts with life expectancies has never been officially answered, nor have the boards reached a consensus, so ask your DM about that. |
